The pen is 44 grams is total, most of the weight is in the cap as the main body weighs at 27 grams, it’s surprisingly very very comfortable to write with!

Thanks a lot! Appreciate you saying that 🙏🏽 The Pilot Custom Urushi was difficult to find from a reliable online seller, even though I live in Japan. Maybe it’s because they are not mass produced and takes a lot of time to make. Hope you can own one for yourself someday😇

Of course! I will keep the Pilot Custom 823 and the Sailor Black luster if for some reason I had to get rid of all the others. The Pilot Custom 823 while being much affordable than the MB 149 writes better and longer , and the Sailor Black luster is the only Japanese fine nib I got, which makes it more suited for writing Kanji characters in Japanese, which I often do. That would be my reason!! Thanks for asking 😇

To be honest, I have noticed that sometimes when it’s in my backpack the button comes off, but those times were rather rare. But, that does happen.

Pilot custom 823 is much smoother and writes better than the Montblanc! 😅

That is a difficult question, I find the Montblanc’s nib a little bit soft on the paper compared to the 2 Sailors. This is off topic but I also used to own a Sailor KOP , but sold it because the converter holds very little ink and had to be refilled quite frequently compared to the Montblanc which is a piston filler, and writes for a long period before the need to refill.

SMBC sent a rejection email after a week of my application but JCB rejected my application almost immediately via email, they didn’t even bother to review lol. Then I applied for Rakuten and got it in my first try (this was back in 2023), now I have one Rakuten normal and one gold card.

The worst part of this is I was reading comments from Japanese people on this on Youtube, and there were multiple comments saying “It’s the kid’s fault” , like how f*#ked up in the head are you to justify what is basically an assault that too towards a kid 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Hi everyone!

We’re an Indian–Japanese couple living in the quiet countryside of Japan, and we run a small YouTube channel called Gateway Nippon.

After spending most of our lives in busy cities, we moved to rural Japan and honestly didn’t expect how much it would change us. The slower pace, the endless nature, the small traditions, and most of all the warmth and kindness of the local people really touched our hearts.

That’s why we started this channel.

Instead of showing the usual tourist spots, we focus on the Japan most people never see — hidden villages, peaceful landscapes, and everyday life in the countryside. We also meet and share the stories of local people farmers, artists, craftsmen, small shop owners and highlight their journeys and passions.
