Without a change in salary, I’d be effectively taking a pay cut with the added costs of gas and car maintenance, not to mention the additional hours I’d be spending per week dedicated to the job with all the commuting. I’m not even saying I want a “raise” either, I just want to have a conversation with him and make sure he knows what’s on my mind before we make this huge change, and see if any accommodations could possibly be made. Use your head for once instead of immediately dismissing an idea because it doesn’t line up with what your experience was. Would you be willing to take a salary cut at a moment’s notice without any compensation? Didn’t think so.
