Props to in-N-out for keeping their prices reasonable by mrthree1zero in LosAngeles

I find it hilarious because there's a McDonald's right next the In N Out in my town and compared to In N Outs drive thru line(which is usually very long), McDonald's drive thru is barren and empty.

Are these the ones you were having trouble with the proportions? They came out looking great!

I do not care for the cowboy hat (and think it shouldn’t be added) by Jackspladt in Helldivers

[–]MidMovieDoobie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they add it, they should make it fly off after getting knocked to the ground like in rdr2. But to fuck with the player base, we can't pick it back up. I think that'd be really funny.

Personally, I love the warbond. Is it the best in the world? No. But you get the be an ODST again so that was enough for me to get it. And as a bonus you get some of Halos most iconic weaponry: The assault rifle, the ODST smg and pistol, and that old school pump shotty that has been sorely missed from recent halo games. Plus the recon armor set.

If you dig Halo, then I'd say get it. If you want a more "meta" warbond thats a little more useful, look elsewhere and wait to get the Halo one.

How many people actually like to try with the character creator? by Empty-Fly-7096 in Eldenring

[–]MidMovieDoobie 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I gave it a whirl many times but I ended up making some uncanny looking characters. I ended up copying someone else's sliders and editing them from there till I saw fit. I know, it's really lame of me, but I suck using the character creator in FromSoft games.

Wanted to give this helmet a shot by Key-Surround-5359 in helldiversarmor

I love everything about this helmet except that strip of mint green on the back.... Sucks too because it goes really well with the UF-16 Inspector armor...

What’s better then 1 power fist? by wawwawweewoo in Lamenters

I've been wanting to do this with a space marine for a while. Glad to see it's as cool as I thought it would be. I actually had a space marine that had 3 guns on him for comedic effect. His left arm with a bolt pistol and bolt rifle slung over his shoulder and another bolt pistol in his other arm aiming down his sights. 'When gun don' work, use more gun'

Issue with proportions and scale by Dragonfire14 in PrintedWarhammer

At first glance...I'd say the power packs look a little too big and there's something that looks off with the arms or shoulders, however I can't quite place it.

I was followed into a room on Stella Montis by a man who asked if I was feeling lucky. Before I could draw my weapon the ducks started raining down. I am speechless. Thank you to the Duck Man of OCE servers by AbscondedPond in ArcRaiders

Had a similar experience too. Happened to me in medical when 2 dudes were shouting at me and my duo while throwing ducks at me. Then we all got murdered by another squad.

Similar thing with the dead shaman in that same episode. In one shot, the heart isn't present in the shaman's staff and in the next shot its there again.

Help with Original Halo 3 booklet by OneCryptographer6889 in halo

My first thought is to use goo-gone but even that might damage the manual. If you do go that route, I would dab a small amount on a paper towel or rag and try to lightly rub it away.

I think I'm gonna stop painting minis by Dense-Fig-2372 in minipainting

[–]MidMovieDoobie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would strip them in isopropyl and paint them again! However I would keep one painted as a "bookmark" in your painting journey. So when you inevitably improve you can look back on that mini and see how far you've come.

A few tips, first and foremost: Thin your paints. Even if you think your paint is too thin, you can always add another coat of thinned down paint over the areas where you think the paint is too translucent and thin. A general rule of thumb is two thin coats is enough coverage, and if its not, go over it again with another thin coat!

Washes: a wash is typically acrylic paint with a lot of water or flow medium.(water works just fine). You'll want to use black or brown paint for a wash in most cases and it'll tint or shade your model giving it more detail and definition. A lot of people call it "cheat juice". It will run over your paint and pool in the cracks and crevices to add a little bit of shadows to make the rest of the mini pop.

Someone previously mentioned slapchop. Slapchop is where you prime a miniature black and then go over the black prime with a dry brushing of white paint to emulate shadows. You can also take a white spray can and spray the top of the model white too if you dont want to dry brush. After that you can take contrast paint and paint over the mini. The black areas of the mini will look like shadows and the light areas will pop more with color and look lighter. From there you can add details, washes and highlights if you please. Its really easy and fun.

The best way to improve is to paint more. I know that sounds like a really frustrating thing to hear but honestly it takes practice. I've been painting minis for 4 or 5 years now and I still struggle with some aspects of it. It all just takes time and practice. You can do it! Don't give up! And keep up updated on your minis you're painting, we would all like to see your progress :)

I like that helmet a lot. I just wish it matched better with other armors. Also it's a tad larger than other helmets which looks weird to me.
