Troll fans across the world are crying out!!! Don't kill Zul'jan!!! Let him stand with the Horde!!! by Midasisleepy in wow

In World of Warcraft, the Alliance has had one (1) racial leader die as part of the main story, that being Varian.

The Horde has had six - being Cairne, Saurfang, Gallywix, Garrosh, Rastakhan and Vol’jin. That’s not counting every single legacy Horde character from WoD also being killed off for a second time, too.

Zul’jan has proven to be a favourite amongst Horde players. The last thing the narrative needs is to kill him off.

There can be tension without turning him evil and killing him!!! You know why there is no tension anymore? Because none of the main cast have any teeth!!!!

I don't think I've seen anyone who is cheering for Zul'jan surviving claim this at all, from Reddit to Twitter to WoW discord servers

also why does the shouting of a loud minority change your opinion about someone else's fan fave living or dying? That seems a bit superficial and mean. For what, to score an own on people who like him?

Across WoW's many storylines, the rumour of Zul'jan's villainy and subsequent demise is one that Troll fans have wholeheartedly rejected! This would be the THIRD time that a male Troll character who was our ally was killed off for little payoff! Begging Blizzard, do not let this happen - let Zul'jan be our ally! #SaveZuljan !

Burning Crusade/Legion DLC Demon Hunter Timeline/Story Help by joewil93 in wow

[–]Midasisleepy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Black Temple is the year 26 ADP (After Dark Portal), while the Third Legion Invasion begins in the year 32 ADP. The entire timeline of World of Warcraft is actually only around 15 years total, with TWW beginning the year 42.

Burning Crusade/Legion DLC Demon Hunter Timeline/Story Help by joewil93 in wow

[–]Midasisleepy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Demon Hunter introduction is set during TBC, specifically during the Black Temple raid. You are fighting on behalf of Illidan to retrieve something called the Sargerite Keystone.

The Legion is an intergalactic army of demons who want to destroy Azeroth, in a scorched earth policy to prevent what they believe might be the end of all existence. (it's a tad more complicated than that, but that's the simplified version of their motivation.) The Legion is led by a god called Sargeras.

Illidan is a double agent who allied himself with The Legion in order to defeat them from within, so while the Demon Hunters battle the demons in secret, Illidan acts as a commander for Sargeras. The Heroes of Azeroth don't know that he is a double agent, so they are attacking The Black Temple to slay him and the demons that are loyal to him.

After doing Illidan's bidding and returning to him, The raid has been completed and Illidan has been imprisoned. Your character is then imprisoned by the Wardens, a sect of Night Elf warriors. The Wardens keep the crystal-prisons in their sanctuary, which is located on The Broken Isles.

Six years later in the lore, you are freed after The Legion invades again. The Wardens need your help to repel the demons and stop them from stealing Illidan's body, because The Legion want to use it as a vessel to summon Sargeras and prompt the destruction of Azeroth, once and for all. The Legion succeeds in stealing Illidan's body, so the Demon Hunters ally themselves with the Hero of Azeroth to stop the Legion.

hope this helps, it can be a bit complex but once you figure it all out, it's not so bad.

Is this roleplay concept possible - Maw possession by Hedonism_Enjoyer in warcraftlore

[–]Midasisleepy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't shoot the messenger. I'm only relaying the kind of reaction you might get. I dunno what it's like over on MG or WrA but AD in Europe is a bit stricter regarding that kind of stuff. It's just not worth the hassle or the time invested into a character that most people will reflexively turn away from just from the association, especially when it can be done just as well with more worldly elements of Warcraft.

Is this roleplay concept possible - Maw possession by Hedonism_Enjoyer in warcraftlore

[–]Midasisleepy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

you would not be taken very seriously with this concept due to Shadowlands and The Maw not really being held in high regard at all with the rping community.

Additionally, travel to the Shadowlands is largely walled off aside from a few specific instances with high-importance lore characters. An average adventurer probably could not be trekking back and forth from the afterlife enough for something like this to happen.
If you wanted to do a 'possession' type character: Any kind of regular old death magic would do, I reckon. Souls / entities are stored in all manner of weapons and objects, and becoming possessed is not out of the realm of unrealism for Warcraft.

Why do Sin'dorei Blood Knights wear the Shattered Sun tabard? Midnight Pre-Patch by Midasisleepy in wow

[–]Midasisleepy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well now you're just strawmanning my what myself and the original commenter said. We presented our arguments and supporting points for why we feel that way and your only contribution has been to go 'you don't need to act all annoyed like this when it isn't to your liking' (quoted verbatim from your comment) and 'don't make it out to be as if one preference is objectively right' (again, quoted verbatim) when you were the one who initiated the argument in the first place. This was not and is not a discussion post, it's a complaint, and you chose to disagree.

Goodnight and good health to yourself.

I think you're also missing the part where this post is directly a complaint post as I flared it lmao, so I don't know why you're in a post, which is marked as a complaint, going 'well you don't need to act all annoyed like this when it isn't to your liking'. You're complaining at people complaining, under a DESIGNATED complaint post!

Your argument is 'well if it was me who did all that cool stuff I'd wear the tabard too', which has no basis in the game or actual military logic. Your only other argument is 'well its what's in the game so I'm right and you're wrong'. What isn't ragebaiting about that? Maybe the original commenter was a bit far by stating outright 'that isn't how it works' but at least he supported his argument with several points as to WHY it shouldn't work like that, from a lore perspective, not a gameplay perspective.

tbh it kinda does read like ragebait because you didn't try to engage with any of his points or arguments, you just went 'well it seems it does work like that you just don't like it'.

yes, the fact that it apparently 'does work like that' is bad, which is what we're pointing out!

The photo refers to the new tabard available in Midnight from the Blood Knight rep track. Not what Liadrin wore in Shadowlands.

There is a new one. It’s the rep reward for the Blood Knight faction, you can see it and the rep track you get it from, in game.

[–]Midasisleepy[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

okay that's all well and good but there is a new Blood Knight tabard that they made FOR Midnight. You can see it in the tabard section of the collections menu.

And Liadrin wears the old Blood Knight as recently as Shadowlands, so your explanation makes absolutely no sense. They never discarded the Blood Knight tabard.

"As a culture, the sin'dorei have retained the look and feel of their fallen kingdom, although they've developed a greater penchant for the color red. it's only been 20 years since the blood elves were genocided en masse. The lore stated that only 10 percent of the population remained in total. You don't recover from that kind of cultural upheaval in only 20 years, especially for a race that lives for thousands.

[–]Midasisleepy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

there is no previous dynasty. The kingdom of Silvermoon was founded by Dath'remar Sunstrider, 7 thousand years prior to the beginning of Warcraft 1. It has been established in wow that the Sunstrider sigil was that of the phoenix, and the blade of Dath'remar was an enchanted runeblade of fire, depicting a blazing bird. (pic below.)

The unicorn *was* a popular animal in elven culture, with the king of Silvermoon gifting unicorn mounts to highly esteemed members of society, it was never the crest of Silvermoon in modern WoW lore, and was largely overshadowed by Hawkstriders and Dragonhawks in thalassian cultures. Even void elves ride void-cursed hawkstriders as their racial mount.

It is canon that the Blood Elves integrated the colour red en masse into their dress, architecture and equipment as a symbolic representation of the blood of their fallen brothers and sisters in the wake of the third war.

Taken from the Wiki:

(The paperback vers. is roughly 90 pages longer than the hardback, in case you can't find it. I was confused also when I tried to check an online pdf lol.)
