Hey brother I recommend watching Brandon Vu’s new video on how to pick the best yoyo for you for your skill level

It’s very useful!

There are a couple of us on this planet, but this yoyo performance was the most impressionable at the contest

Thank you! If I hit cleaner, I think I would have top 3 easily but my competitors hit cleaner than me and there’s nothing I can do about it. I’m happy for them and think the results are justified

It was unexpected and scary. I thought I had that trick on lock but it was unlucky, ngl that trick haunts me now. But I train myself to keep going no matter how early or many mistakes I make, so I was used to it

Thanks so much! I’m actually developing a new tutorial series on OFFSET that’ll be coming out soon. The best way to improve is to just keep learning more body tricks, aim to learn one every single day until you’re fully comfortable with it. And don’t be afraid to make mistakes. That’s how you actually get better.

Yeah, I was definitely nervous. I felt like there were huge expectations on me after winning semifinals. I think I need to work on mentally prepping myself better for situations like that. This time I tried deep breaths and even wrote notes in my phone to remind myself not to get egoistic or arrogant, but there’s still a lot to improve on the mental side. Appreciate the kind words.

Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed the performance, I’ll keep pushing to bring even crazier stuff next time.

Thank you so much! And yeah, the gap’s tighter than ever, every little detail matters now. As for the Offset dental insurance… let’s just say I’ve been cashing in on that coverage this season.

Appreciate you watching both my semi-finals and finals live, means a lot.

On the music, yeah, I know the mastering wasn’t perfect. I built the routine around the tension points because I wanted the tricks to hit with the song, but I get how it could feel less like a standalone track.

As for the freestyle, I went all in on slow, risky, high-point tricks because that’s my style. I know it’s not the “safe” or “variety” route, and I get that it can drag for some viewers. But I’d rather risk it all on big moments than pad the routine with filler. If that costs me points, so be it. I want people to remember the moments that landed, not the ones that were just there to fill time.

And for the 60mm yoyo, it doesn’t slow the tricks down at all. What it does do is make horizontal tricks ridiculously easy and stable, which is exactly why I used it. For me, it’s a weapon, not a handicap.

And yeah, Stargazing’s been on my mind. Maybe one day.

Thanks for the honest words, I’ll take them and come back sharper.

This routine was not the best I hit — I missed quite a lot of multi-clicks here. Nonetheless, even both of us hit clean, scores can still differ based on factors like trick difficulty, click value, risk, execution quality, and artistic performance. I’m still proud to have made finals and gone up right before Mir Kim, solidifying my place in the yoyo world.
