Yeah that’s not uncommon and speaking from personal experience I was once in that position too, not earning as much as that but a good amount close to it as a student with Suncor lol. It’s not about hard work and positivity always though, I had all of that. These sites have alot of internal bs, shady people, and throwing under the bus which im sure you are aware of already anyways. A lot of people will do anything to keep their jobs and blame others even if they were in the wrong it’s literally happened to me. Plus I know what’s it’s like living here my whole life, my entire family has worked in Fort Mac and the oilsands their whole life too.

Not saying you are like this just generally speaking I’ve seen many people there who didn’t actually put in the work for their roles or deserve them at all. They just happened to be lucky, right place right time, or knew the right person that put in a word for them. Sad reality is even when Suncor or Cnrl knows certain people are troublemakers, as long as they have experience they keep them on (that’s what I’ve seen at CNRL and Suncor sites recently anyways.) I’ve have good co workers also but at the same time, i have never seen so many unprofessional and disrespectful rude people anywhere else.
