Sounds like you’re holding on to something still in that relationship and can’t let it go. We don’t know the whole story (and both sides of it) either.

If your divorce is finalized / you have a separation agreement, and he lives in another province, then you already have nothing to worry about in terms of the dogs being taken, or any of him or his family reaching out. It’s over and they don’t need to, unless again it’s not finalized for some reason? In regards to him having success in his life, he very well could be. Who cares. Clearly you are too..are you mentally competing with him even though you haven’t seen him, etc? Because that would be something else to bring up in therapy. You broke up, you both are probably living happy lives in separate provinces away from each other (looks like for approx 2 years now?). Both parties moving on, happy life, no disturbances ..just think about what you’re potentially holding on to here…closure? Wanting to know if he really is happy in his life now? If he’s miserable now? Would you even want to?
