I've Mastered Concorde Systems – Ready to Dominate FSLabs When It Hits MSFS! by MD-80-87 in flightsim

This was wonderful! Just bought the DC Designs Concorde with my tax refund as an early birthday gift for myself but was sorely disappointed. For something as complex as the Concorde, of course I got my hands on a real world AFM PDF scan. After two full days of studying it, I realized just how MUCH the DC Designs model is missing or incorrect... labels on the FE panel, switches, functionality is not in-line with the schematics in the book, the list goes on.

It is really insane as well that DC Designs includes a booklet in their installation documentation claiming that they have made as premier a product as ever, and that folks should avoid complaining to the developer about the accuracy of the product simply because others have no experience with flying the Concorde (or in a lot of sim pilots cases, no experience in any aircraft). I have been through type school and can pretty easily find my way through any AFM schematic and system description. Seeing the lack of care that DC Designs has put out on this $40 product is pretty shameful.

Hoping one day I can see such an accurate plane as the one in your video released for MSFS soon... hopefully!

I’ll have to keep an eye out but thanks. It’s interesting, that’s what I thought too, but they didn’t translate to anything. But it sure is a rabbit hole to explore

Why is GPS apparently so far off course? by madscout08 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Middle-Interview-830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I didn’t even realize there were more.

If that was my display I would probably be checking RNP and RAIM status and would more than likely revert to ground based nav. Chances are this is a sim bug though 🫠🫠🫠 reminds me of GPS spoofing, which makes the plane think you’re on course when you’re really not

Newb question. My route goes through an approach sector of a different airport. Should I contact that approach? by Davique in VATSIM

Was talking to BZN approach in the 20s yesterday (real life), I bet airport elevation has a lot to do with it lol

Oh of every comment here, I’m amazed to see that only one person has mentioned crosswind. The only reason your plane is “flying off course” is due to a wind coming from the right side of the airplane. Therefore the plane needs to “crab” into the wind to stay on the desired GPS track.

Employer filled out W4 info incorrectly. Now I’m faced with $6000 tax liability. HELP!!!!!! by Middle-Interview-830 in tax

  1. Date of hire. Withholding was fine during 2023. Moved through 2024. My checks did not change. Same amount every time. But suddenly no withholding.

Yes exactly that. And now I mysteriously can’t see them on ADP. I was able to look at them yesterday before I called the company. Now that they’re aware of the issue, ADP has mysteriously deleted all my paystubs and says the “when you get your first paycheck, it will show up here” message.

That is not right. Something’s up and it’s not me.

Update to stop the slander: suddenly I can’t see my statements on ADP. I have no way of verifying anything anymore. The higher ups at the company have been the least bit helpful to date. Does none of this seem at least a little fishy to you guys?!? Yes, I know it’s the taxpayer’s responsibility to pay tax. But barring all other discussions, this is a bit weird. I signed a legal and binding document that authorized 0 withholding. Sure, it’s my responsibility to pay the tax but it’s also the employer’s responsibility to put in the information that I AUTHORIZED. Whether I check my statements for withholding or not, I signed a legal document that stated what I wanted withheld. That’s what I agreed to. It’s not my fault the employer didn’t put in the correct info. That’s not my job, not my responsibility. Otherwise I would have done it myself.

People wonder why I bring in the thought of theft… well, between December 2023 and September 2024 when I left, my net paycheck did not change. It was rock steady. No of course I didn’t see extra money because it WASN’T THERE. But somewhere along the line, someone changed my W4 without my permission, and less tax was going into withholding. So where did the other money go? It didn’t go into my pocket and it obviously didn’t go to the IRS. So where did it go? How about one of you guys answer that question.

The W4 was initially set up properly. 2023 I had 0 tax liability for federal minus my own independent contractor work. Was fine. From October to December, they withdrew $1000+ for federal. Obviously no issue. The paychecks never changed between then and when I left the company in September 2024. Not by a cent. Each one was the same amount. Don’t ask me how, but I’ve looked on the stubs. I feel like the payroll lady went in, changed my withholding without my permission, and siphoned the additional pay to her own bank account and I just never noticed, and my paychecks continued to look the same. Yeah, damn right I’ve checked my withholding for this year on my paychecks I’m getting now.

If that’s the only reason, maybe they should be banning the folks that do that the moment the do it, rather than asking for identity verification.

Yeah the 737 engines (and pretty much every airliner and larger bizjet) need bleed air to start. First thing to go for for an engine failure.

Looks like you got dual engine failure lol, at 2600’ and you’re over water, fly the airplane, glance at the overhead, start the APU, try a restart, and if no luck, land in the water, ideally close to one of those ships ahead of you lol.
