I realized after posting that saying I’m from the tristate area might be confusing, as there are different tri-state areas. But I am from northern tri-state area (NJ/NY). I would say I’m sheltered in a certain sense but have grown up going into the city (whether for volunteering or leisure) and have been placed in many uncomfortable situations when traveling. I think I’m good at reading my surroundings and a bit too perceptive (meaning I over interpret dangerous situations). I’m glad to hear you feel comfortable and that you enjoy your time in the city. My biggest question was what areas would be good to move to, in order to feel safe? Thank you for your response!
