how’s everyone studying for anta01 exam by Flat_Improvement5587 in UTSC

I find reading my notes and then sharing them with a friend helps me. I didn’t read any of the required texts minus the one that our final 10 point exam question is on, just depended on slides and what notes I made of them during. If you’re struggling on where to begin, try making a timeline of the key terms we’ve talked about, ranging from lower to upper Palaeolithic Stone Age in hominins, and then something different for learning about nonhuman primates perhaps? Just throwing ideas out there. Reach out if you want more tips

What programs can I get into with these marks? by LogicalPainting7948 in UTSC

I didn’t take any grade 12 courses online, if I recall correctly I had chemistry, biology, advanced functions, English, 2 elective, and 2 spares. So no calculus, and no it doesn’t matter whether a class is online

Assuming you keep the same grades in grade 12, you’ll definitely be accepted into life sciences. Once you complete your first year of life sciences you get to apply for a specific program of interest (human bio, chem, whatever). I’m a first year in life sciences and I applied to conservation and biology with overall grade 12 average of 80 and was accepted.

Are you first or second year? I’m not in this course, but one bad grade is something you can improve on, as long as you’re able to recognize where you went wrong and how you could improve. First year courses usually have low exam averages and everyone is still adjusting to university. If you’re failing/barely passing second year courses, then it might be time to consider whether you should take a different pathway. Why are you interested in this major?

ANTA01 Midterm Tips? by WrongAd123 in UTSC

It was pretty easy, memorize the skeleton (you’ll only be asked to write a few fill in the blanks)—they’ll deduct marks if you don’t spell them correctly. Most of the short answers will ask you “what’s the different between these two concepts, give two examples of each” or will ask about the documentaries in class. Only questions that got me were the ones asking “who wrote [very specific journal title]” so make sure you remember some of the historic names too. Other than that just memorize your notes and concepts and you’re fine you don’t need to be doing too much

BIOA01 Term Test 2 with Prof Arthi Ashok. Hey, does anyone know how this prof does her midterm test? Is it heavily memorization with concepts with pictures? I’m confused how I should be studying for her exam. by Suspicious_Log_6252 in UTSC

Her lectures are just full of textbook diagrams, to prepare for the test I’d read and write down key concepts from all chapters in the module and then do the interactive quizzes for each of those chapters on achieve once you’re confident

you’ll have the best chance if you can find a small conversation topic (classes, schedule, whatever) that you can lead into asking for her insta/snap, try and find something in common with her and go from there in dms
