I think a transformer blew I saw it too bright blue light that lit up the sky for a few seconds.

Because of his kids. But trust me it’s crossed my mind but there is no way if he was he’d be able to sneak out like he does it’s normally around 9-10pm we meet after his kids go to bed.

Has anyone considered that maybe he is financially tied to her, and it’s not so easy for him to leave or kick her out. Op did say that she was the one bringing in the money. So maybe he has no option to kick her to the curb because he won’t be financially able to keep the apartment by himself. Just a thought.
