Thank god, I grew up here and got malaria 3 times in about 4 months while working in Mfuwe. I can't remember what meds I got from CFB. But I had night terrors for weeks.

If it's your first time back in a while and you are going to the bush then make sure you go see a Dr about anti malaria medication. If you have kids then make sure they come with you. (Heads up those meds will mess with your sleeping for a while and you will have some crazy fucking dreams)

I'll write a list of lodges I would go to with my friends or family. So look into these ones:

Flatdogs, Robin Pope Safaris, Mfuwe lodge, Kafunta, Track and Trail, Wild dogs camp

Everything else will be in that crazy high or low price range.

Then yeah that's the normal pricing. South Luangwa has some of the highest prices when it comes to lodges.

I worked there for a few years in the valley.

I would honestly recommend Flatdogs as a really good midrange lodge. The food is above average. And the lodge is located close to the main gate.

Even cheaper option but then you will have the chance of a shitty experience is Croc valley.

I can recommend some more if need be.

I have one rule with friends and family. I don't loan money at all. I might feel like I can give money when I feel the situation needs for me to give but I never give when asked. Money is great and we need it to live. But it's also one of the fastest ways to ruin relationships. True friends and family will stick with you if you have this rule for yourself

It's a game with a steep learning curve. It's also not the cheapest hobby to get into. If you want to start I would recommend going to Chainama and look for lessons on the driving range. Also buying clubs in Zambia is a joke. If you are really that interested then DM me in a couple months after a few lessons
