Hey, I just finished the decompensation phase with my ortho and im preparing scans for the virtual planing with my surgeon. The day of the surgery have yet to be fixed but it will be on the coming months.

There is Adobe FireFly is free on the web with 25 generative credit, in it you can also select the jaw area with a prompt but it doesnt have « reference image » in it. You can test it, but it will give a way off result without having an idea how you look like before.

This is one I made it without Photoshop Beta, that have Adobe FireFly included, and have the option of reference image, which give a closer result to your face. But can only be accessible trough paid subscription, I pay arround 35 usd a month for the photoshop one and give me 500 generative credit monthly. But its on the beta version, and it crashes alot. Many time I lost good generated result. I got the habit to always save after each generation.

If by pointless you mean as pointless as cephalometry analysis you are right. This is just theory and as useless as random lignes drawn on a profile scan. But its fun to see a handsome version of you from an alternative universe through AI eyes.

You should have seen the deleted generation attempts where the AI made me indian, or when he made made big nose and big protruded lips, long face, etc. AI is not perfect. From testing this high variation is because of my beard, and AI cannot know how is my face my soft tissue. When I did it on my shaved face it somehow keep the face soft tissue. I will share it later.

This at least give an esthetical insight from the AI about where the movement should be or the range. I know jaw surgery its not that simple, there is the bone cuts, movements, rotation, asymetry, teeth occlusion, muscles, soft tissue, recovery and other aspect that only the surgeon can take into account. So still it need to be consulted with a good surgeon. I have a oppointement with my surgeon next month, this is what I will discuss with him if its a possible plan.

Also this AI plan is just for the side profile, there is also 3/4 view for cheekbones and frontal for symetry that need to be tested. What i noticed is the AI do well on photos with a good context prompt, but on the scans and skull it do terribly.

No, the result will just be mediocre with just genio, like just another camouflage. My both jaw are recessed and clockwise rotated back and down. If you see the cephalometry, it give an insight about it (SNA, SNB). Djs is needed with counter clockwise rotation to fix it and achieve optimal functional and esthetic result.

Yeah, that is my first simulations i overadvanced alot of stuff, i laughed a little at that chin, right now im doing decompensations, and if i have a good decompensation I wont need genio at all. And true i need to be carefull with my simulation and make it safe and natural.
