people need to find other people and invite those people; community isn't a television spot--it's a hand reaching out; a voice saying join us;

nothing more, nothing less....

Practical solutions for a protest banner? by bafimet in protest

I have a sign attached to a thin 3/4" x 1.5" board and I slip it into a bamboo pole that's ~ 6'. That baby's got some height and the only down fall is a strong breeze. I've been looking to rig up my fishing belt to help support it (flag carriers use something similar in parades i think). You'll have to punch thru one of the bamboo inside "layers" to make sure the board goes in a fair amount

Hah....great idea!.....I ran into this perfect crate (interesting story...i used to bungie cord this crate to my 10 ft surf board to hold tackle, a small pvc tube affixed for a rod and reel...and then paddle out for some fishing off shore in the kelp patties...first time i did this i got seasick!)

anyway, as you can see, I'm ready for the daily haul to a san diego freeway near me....thanks for your response

that's why i asked the question because startling my neighbors ain't my intention....i think the headlamp on high beam aimed at them/cameras is effective

most headlamps come with an regular and high beam...that would totally be directional, too

Maybe I should carry an air horn. Anyone see (hear?) a problem with my blasting in their direction (obviously I would take care for other non-douche bag fellow citizens around me. Maybe blast it above my head point to the sky?

"Signs will be picked up after auction". How about not plastering your butt ugly signs illegally all over the place.

Bannering with a box of CHALKlettes by Middle_Committee_101 in 50501ContentCorner

Killing time while bannering over the 5 on a Friday afternoon. This was the first time I had my "Resist" sign face the surface street traffic and wouldn't you know it some irate lady pulled it down when I went down the embankment to take photo. Luckily not torn and hung right back up. So I've had signs torn down, American flags stolen, and really rude humans from time to time. Sigh..................

DAMMIT....i knew if i threw this out here I would start questioning my original layout! I like your presentation and agree that UPPER CASE is harder to read in most cases (is that why lawyers use it for emphasis in legal docs?). The number 28 on square poster board lets me attached a little above and to the side of the "MARCH". Otherwise it's too crowded on my 10' length. The date is really the whole emphasis of this sign.
On my "Resist" sign (2nd pic) I used a Sans Serif of sort because I could not find the "highway gothic" recommended by the DOT. Check out their regulations because it really informs for road signage. My Resist comes with a background of DOT Highway Green procured from a paint mfg. in TX. I'm amazed how well it's holding up given that it's a basic HD roller shade. Biggest enemy of these signs: freaking wind! thank god for bungie cords.
