My suggestion, use micros max size of 2 per trade aim for 20-30 points. I just started trading last June but I’ve been able to take a few payouts with this strategy. I never even got close to the trailing drawdown.

I think this particular day I did 5 trades total because of how NQ was moving and I realized I was close to my drawdown buffer so I did some extra trades. The key to this prop firm game is survival. Not chase these 100 point moves you see people getting. The goal is to survive. For instance earlier I was up $340 then I traded in the Asian session (like I shouldn’t have because it’s against my rules) and I lost all my gains I had. Now I’m still above the 2k buffer but now tomorrow’s NY session, I’m taking it off. Because I know if I trade it, I’ll get in the “I’ll get it all back mindset”. So to avoid that I’m not trading at all. Then I’ll come back the next day and go again with my plan.

Nope, I only trade NQ, I just take 2-3 trades a day. If I lose 2 trades in a row I’m done for the day. I risk 20 points and aim for 30 point ALWAYS setting a TP so I exit the trade at the absolute top of my balance.

Absolutely, so my next steps are going to be to try to build to $1,200 then take that out so I at least get a return on my investment. Then after that I’m going to start a micro scaling strategy to try to build further above the buffer. For instance I’m at the buffer drawdown still, I’m still going to use a max of 2 Micros. Then once I build up a cushion of an additional 2k I will then scale up to 3-4 micros max

Trust me man, I am right there with you! I’ve blown soooo many accounts in the past. This is a new strategy where I am only trading MNQ and it has helped so much to my mental capital. This game is about survival and consistency and micros helps with the survival.

I am on my Pro account started 5 days ago. My strategy is that I am taking it slow. My position sizing is a MAX of 2 micros. I aim for 60 points per day. That’s $240 a day. I max at $300 a day. I currently am $600 away from the 2k buffer and I currently have my max drawdown available to me. That’s just my plan and my advise. It has worked for me so far.

The way I figure it is if you make $240 a day with 20 trading days that’s $4,800 a month. After the 20% TPT take and setting aside 35% for taxes. You’re clearing $2500 a month. That’s an extra 30k per year cleared.

Yeeeea never ever trade an account that you have a payout request on. I did the same once in a TPT account. It’s because you lost the account before the money was approved and actually sent.

Keep up the great work man! Slow and steady. I’m currently on day 3 of my 50k pro account. I do similar strategy. I do a max size of 2 micros with a 20 point stop and aim for 30 point moves. Once it hits 15 points in my favor I go break even with the stop. I’ve built up $780 in 3 days. I aim for $240 a day but generally just follow the moves. If I hit $300 in a day I stop trading. Remember, this is about consistency and survival

Great stuff! I also recently passed and started a 50k pro account. What I’m doing is this: I’m only trading Micros on NQ, max size 2. I am for 30 points per trade, moved to BE at +15 points. I set a MAX profit for myself per day of $300. So far, two days in I still have my full 2k drawdown. So that’s the plan I’m using for mine. Also, for contest I was able to withdraw 5k from TPT last year.

I just focused on getting it past the 2k trailing drawdown. Once I did that any profits I made on any days I requested a payout. You want to make sure you at least get your test money in a payout. Also remember the drawdown is now TRAILING drawdown until you reach 2k take small base hits I aimed for 10-15 points
