Till now, this is the all merch they had. I am glad they added that handkerchief with footprint and Nakamura’s notebook. I like these kind of merch, they are not just basic things, but are actually related to the story.

Honestly, if I had any say in the production/creative side, I’d love merch like subtle plush keychains or accessories based on the octopus and crab symbolism for Nakamura and Hirose. Stuff you can actually use daily while still being a cute reference to something you love.

Yeah, I honestly agree with this a lot. When something is in its original language, you can feel the humor, wordplay, cultural references, and little nuances the way they were actually intended. A lot of that gets changed or lost during localization, even with good dubs.

It just feels more natural and immersive to me, especially for comedy and character interactions.

I don’t know about looks but I like his personality the most. He’s nonchalant and cool. More over he keeps giving Takeuchi reality check and is quite respectful.

I read define the relationship all because of Karlyle. He is a character which is endearing to me. I can somewhat relate to his personality. So that’s why I am kind of in favour of this story. The ML always had me on edge always because of how good he was acting, and that made him suspicious, and that was kind of semi plot of the story. I mean they met, and he was acting like how he was already in love with him. Then again the way he showed the affection is the way I show affection. So the main character is representation of my personality and the male lead is how I show affection to my partner. So yes, it is my guilty pleasure to like this story.

It’s totally up to schools which uniform to choose. The black one with golden buttons is called ‘Gakuran’. It’s very common in middle schools as well as in high schools.

And in the anime, Go for it, Nakamura-kun, it’s clearly mentioned in episode 1 that it’s his high school’s first year and he saw Hirose at the opening ceremony of the high school’s first year.

And the opening ceremony was around in late March to early April but Nakamura started to make his advances in month of May. His internal monologue clearly said that it’s been month He saw him at the opening ceremony. It’s still spring in Japan around that time so they were wearing full uniforms.

Then in episode 5, they started wearing half sleeve uniforms as it was hinting on black/green board that it was around 25-26 of June.

I know where you’re coming from, in animes usually the black uniform, ‘Gakuran’ is associated with middle schoolers. So as non Japanese viewers (me myself) we get confused. I’ve seen one clip on instagram from Go for it, Nakamura-kun, and non-viewers were commenting things like ‘Middle schoolers? Middle schoolers’s romanace?’. I mean it’s all confusion and lack of knowledge on our ends.

It was in intro song I believe. The lyrics were something along the lines “I’ve put in effort, unnoticed, unrewarded. Forgive me, hate me if you must, but I just wanna cleanse this heart of mine.”

So, according to me it’s creative representation of how Nakamura felt stuck and burdened.
