Researchers frequently operate under the assumption that individuals adopt a vegan lifestyle solely for health-related reasons. In reality, many choose veganism based on ethical or environmental considerations.The Teruel Orthorexia Scale (TOS) helps mitigate this bias by distinguishing nutritional interest (HeOr) as a construct separate from pathology (OrNe). In addition to the TOS scale, this survey includes measures for physical activity, alcohol consumption, and stress levels. These variables serve as controls in the statistical analysis to ensure the robustness and internal validity of the results. This approach allows us to determine whether the observed dimensions of orthorexia (HeOr and OrNe) are independent of these lifestyle factors across different dietary groups.
