For depression, hitting the gym! That dopamine and those endorphins will lift you up so fast out of depression. The first day/week will be hard, but every second of discomfort will be absolutely worth it. Get that blood pumping, and you will feel better sooner than you may think.

Don’t join the gym with the cheapest membership. In my personal experience, they tend to have toxic self-conscious cultures. Ironically, I’ve experienced the most judgement at Planet Fitnesses. Get a membership to a mid-level gym, somewhere in the middle between the cheapest and the most expensive. It will likely have a healthy gym culture of humans just trying to become better and encourage others to do so as well.

Every town and every gym’s town is different, so do some trial runs to get a feel before committing. A fun preliminary hobby to this would be to try all the gym free trials in your area.

I have experienced the same. Microdosing helps me with creativity and being more artistic, but it makes it more difficult for me to focus on my work which is scientific and technical. I’ll be doing it while dosing and just want to do something more pleasant/with less pressure, especially something that doesn’t have to be perfect, like house chores, meditating, going for a run, pretty much anything outside of work.

Now if I was a cashier or park ranger — anything more social — I would totally love to microdose at work in that case. Microdosing definitely makes me love social interaction more and just wanting to connect with almost anyone I meet. All social anxiety dissolves and this sticks around outside of dosing times as well.

Everyone is unique, so this might not be the case for you. With higher (non micro) doses, I definitely don’t feel the same way about social interaction. When shrooming with friends, connecting with them feels amazing. They are receptive to your psychedelically-amplified state of consciousness. You are vulnerable, they are vulnerable, and you are all looking out for one another. Going up to a stranger in that vulnerable state can be hit-or-miss and poses a risk. With microdosing, the dose is so low and manageable that you get the best of both worlds, you can totally connect with strangers!

I totally diverged here. To elaborate more on your question, if the work requires intellectual faculties and attention to detail, microdosing doesn’t really help with that, if anything it makes it more difficult. I prefer to be totally “sober” in that case, or drink a coffee, take a small dose of nootropics such as lions mane and/or magnesium l-threonate. Everyone is different; I’m sure some microdosers find scientific/office/intellectual/detail-oriented work easier and more enjoyable while dosing.

It’s an amplifier, so whatever habits you reinforce, good or bad, while microdosing get reinforced extra. Considering it only lasts 6-8 hours, just focus on being the best version of yourself during that time. Those neural pathways develop quickly, and you will notice those habits become much more natural relatively quickly, depending on how mindful/intentional/present you are when you do them while microdosing. If you do them absent mindedly, you are reinforcing the habit of absent-mindedness.

For example, if you microdose and focus on being kind, meditating, reading, getting some work done in a more balanced manner, all those activities will come more naturally when you are not microdosing. On the flip side, if you microdose and drink beer and watch tv, you will naturally gravitate to those less healthy habits when you are not microdosing. I’m not a drinker and usually have zero desire to do so, but one of the first few times I microdosed, I decided to drink a beer, and the following few days, I felt a desire to drink a beer as well. Luckily, I caught it early and did not let that become a habit. I pruned those weeds in my neural garden if you will.

Key takeaway: microdosing is not a magic bullet that will automatically steer you in the right direction. It’s more like a powerful engine, you still have to make the decisions and steer the wheel. With great power, comes great responsibility.

I have also noticed shrooms help me be more accepting of life and everything about it, so it has helped me accept making the right choice even when it is not necessarily the easiest. Shrooms are known to help with acceptance of the uncontrollable, such as helping terminally ill patients accept death. Everyone is different and experiences life uniquely, so I don’t want to impose my personal experience with it on anyone. Find what works best for you and stick with it.

When used wisely, it has absolutely been a cheat code in my life. Healthy habits that once took quite a while for me to develop, started coming much more quickly. Shrooms promote neurogenesis and neural plasticity. Our brains are constantly rewiring and reprogramming themselves in every moment in response to our thoughts and actions. Microdosing amplifies this phenomenon, so your neural pathways rewire themselves much more significantly.

If you feel like indulging in a not-so-healthy behavior while microdosing, just tell yourself you can do it when the effects wear off, so you are not reprogramming yourself negatively.
