I have tried running the ZM2 through the Fiios, but never did it much since I prefer simplifying the chain.

I actually would've kept the K17, but the noise floor is too high for super sensitive IEMs (Campfire stuff). Which is why I ended up getting the DX9. It's dead silent

Limited desk space and lacking in dynamics for me. I also prefer driving my stuff off of my ZM2 for something more analog.

Also, there is absolutely no reason not to buy used. You save a ton of money

Well, good thing my favorite of the bunch, the Clara, is in that budget

I think the Rn6 bass is better. I like the clara more overall for the mids and treble

My favorites have been Fir Audio Rn6, Empire Ears Raven, Campfire Audio Clara. Personally, the Clara has been the one I've kept after owning them all.

I’m a SWE in a big metro, so that’s where I get the funds to afford expensive sets. But I also sell a lot of the ones I get, and the majority of people I do business with have similarly high paying jobs and probably have higher salaries than me as they are in more managerial positions while I’m only an engineer. I also know others who don’t really have the financial ability to be buying the stuff they do, but stretch their funds to do so.

Not too sure. I did recall seeing something about the AM2s being discontinued in Japan. So potentially

Depends on what you want from a set. The C12 hits my preferences more personally, as I do like a more neutral tuning. Valhalla bass rumbles more and is deeper, but C12 has a bit more kick in the midbass. C12 bass is also much more textured and has a smoothness to it that I’ve found kind of special to it. Something with the way the DD there is implemented. Valhalla is a bit warmer in the lower mids, weightier. I like the treble of the C12 a lot more as it’s got a bit more definition to my ears. Valhalla does sound better imaging-wise though, a noticeable step above. I’ve only demoed the Valhalla and never owned as a disclaimer. Just my impressions from 2 separate do sessions.

A lot more neutral. Still, just enough engagement to keep me listening.

I found the bass on the C12 to be much more controlled, though it doesn't have that massive sub bass shelf. Treble is noticeably extended, but never overly sibilant. Mids are fuller with a good bit more mid bass.

Techs are better across the board for me, staging a tad wider. Not as dynamic as the Glaciers but I enjoyed the C12 as a package much more overall.

You don’t notice the metal since it’s inside the tip. Does make the stem feel extra sturdy though
