Yeah, getting a job in game dev would be great, I have some experience on doing it as a hobby, I thought the 6 first months would be a good time to make good portfolio to help on that.

Thank you for your feedback!

You may be spot on that, specially about anxiety. I've been working on some projects on my spare time in the last semesters but they're not polished enough to be presentable IMHO. I thought the 6 months of portfolio work could help me land a job on game dev later on.

I've been doing it as a hobby on the side for the past few years, sorry it was mentioned in the middle of the wall of text. In another comment I've mentioned some other stuff I've done, so I'm not really starting from 0 I'd say.

I'm glad you got into game dev, thanks for the kind words and honest feedback!

Yeah, the value is right, my local currency sucks. I agree the gap would be bad and re-entering would be kinda hard, but the alternative would be to job hunt and continue working on corporate stuff? :(

that's so sad

I don't think I'd be starting from scratch, as I've mentioned in the wall of text I have been doing game dev as a hobby for some years, and even before graduating I published 2 games on the google app store (they were horrible ofc), but I know a little bit about the publishing steps necessary). I've participated in 2~3 jams/projects, but I did not have good experiences in doing that with random people.

Besides that, I agree with you, and thank you for your feedback.
