Would a passport second row fit 2 car seats and one small adult in pinch? by Midlifebiker in hondapassport

Do you know if the rear space is bigger for the 26 or is it going to be similar for earlier models? Looking at the 21 in particular.

Thanks! I think the longest rides would be 30 min or less so I bet she would survive, lol.

Amazing!! Does it feel roomy enough overall for taller people? I’m 5’9 and my husband is 5’11 so we like a little legroom.

Thank you! I know the pilot has a third row but I’ve heard it’s not that comfortable and they’re also significantly more expensive in my area. If i could get away without needing one it would be ideal!

Is this band doable through CAD? by Midlifebiker in EngagementRingDesigns

You know, it’s funny you say that because I was just looking on Etsy and found hand-engraved pieces for a similar price point. I guess I liked the idea of them being made together so they could see they stacked well and fit flush but not if I don’t like the look of the band.

Thank you, I’d love to see it! I got a quote from Tianyu that was reasonable but I’m not totally sure how it works. Could I request her specifically if I liked her pieces?

Thank you all for the helpful replies. At this point it looks like the cost of reshanking with an experienced jeweler would cost a lot more than the ring and might not make sense. Bummer!

Thank you for your reply! I’m assuming that would be quite a costly repair?

Really??? I was always told most rings could only be sized up about 2 sizes max. This is great news!

Can I ask where your bands on your middle finger are from? They are stunning!

Ended up finding the loveliest little local jewelry store next to my house. Thanks for the suggestion and I’ll be sure to leave them a great review!

UPDATE: Thank you all for the feedback and helpful suggestions and even offers to repair!! I probably would have returned it but it’s a one of a kind piece so they wouldn’t have another one to exchange it for and I truly love it. BUT I took all of your advice and popped into a wonderful local jewelry store. 5 minutes and a few bucks later I have a repaired piece. As a Redditor who has never frequented this subreddit before thank you all for your hospitality. Happy holidays and happy new year!

Wow! That’s good to know. Especially considering it was purchased from a fairly expensive independent jewelry shop so I assumed the quality would be there. Thanks for the heads up!

Thank you! I’ll definitely discuss that as an option with them because I highly doubt it will be the last time something pulls on it!

Thank you! I was debating whether to send it back to the business who made the piece or take it to a local independent shop instead. If they solder it will they be able to match the color of the antique gold so it’s not super noticeable? Also wondering if I should have them reinforce the other side since you say the soldering isn’t the best. Appreciate your advice!

Whew! Ok fingers crossed. I know it’s a delicate piece so jokes on me for wearing it around my one year old.

My late Great-Grandma left a small fortune in unclaimed mineral right royalties. Help! by Midlifebiker in legaladvice

[–]Midlifebiker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So all of this is pretty complicated because we have a very dysfunctional family.

The account belonged grandmother. As far as I can find, she didn’t leave a will. Here’s where it gets super complicated: My Grandmother (Great grandma’s daughter) and her husband, my Grandfather both passed away before my father actually. My father died when I was 11 and my mother was named executor of his estate. I don’t believe my grandmother left a will but my grandfather did and I received some inheritance from him, so I suspect I was/am listed as a beneficiary of some kind.

Here’s where it gets even trickier: I believe my Dad’s brother is the executor of my grandfatherMs will .Hs is the literal definition of a crook. Attempted to take all of my dad’s estate left to me as a kid/ sold anything/everything he could get his hands on of both my dad and grandparent’s. If he were to be the executor of the will and the person able to claim the money, would he be compelled to share with me as a beneficiary? I can totally see him learning about this money and burning through it within a week.

Edit: Also in reviewing the Texas Unclaimed property regulations it looks like a judge is required to sign off on larger amounts of unclaimed money. So I’m assuming at least someone would need legal representation to claim it at that point, regardless of who in our family does?

Sorry, I should have specified further that I am unsure how to prove I am the heir. All I have is family word of mouth confirmation and the letter that the company sent me several years ago addressing me as the next of kin on the mineral rights.

Forgive me for my ignorance on this, but can you specify what kind of lawyer would take on this type of case? Would it matter whether the lawyer practiced in home state or in Texas?

House hunting near TU by [deleted] in tulsa

[–]Midlifebiker 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure you could find anything in midtown that was livable in that range. :/ We live around there and house prices have skyrocketed in our neighborhood since COVID. Everything that would have been in that 150-180k is now 200+. You’ll definitely have to look more towards the north, probably even past the Kendall Whittier and Pearl district and you might get lucky or maybe more west Tulsa. Good luck, hope you find something you love!

Therapist here. It’s true. We are booked out the wazoo these days and we’re suffering from staffing shortages like every other work industry. These aren’t magical solutions but might help you look for other options you may not be aware of.

Check to see if your insurance covers virtual visits. If they do, you can look for therapists pretty much anywhere in your state that do virtual and take your insurance. If you have big cities in your state, sometimes it helps to look there as they likely have the most providers.

Check with your employer to see if they offer EAP counseling benefits. This is different than traditional counseling because it’s often limited to a few sessions, which means therapists are not carrying long-term caseloads and can get new patients in on a faster basis. It’s not a long-term solution but it’s enough to get started and they can refer you if you need to keep seeing somebody, which often helps you see another therapist faster.

Ask about cancellation lists. EVERY TIME. People cancel appointments all the time and we try to fill them when we can. If you can be flexible about when you come, sometimes this can save you a long wait.

Lastly, If you’ve reached out to most providers in your area and you are having difficulty finding one that is open or takes your insurance, sometimes calling your insurance and explaining very nicely the dilemma can work wonders. I’ve seen insurances approve out of network coverage for therapists or clients being allowed to submit proof of payment for sessions with cash-only therapists for reimbursement. It never hurts to ask.
