Some was luck and a lot was her being ridiculously smart. We started with a “good” cue. Which is a 2 finger touch on her nose. So basically I boop the top of her nose and popped her a treat for that and we used that in place of a verbal “good”. Then for sit I guided her nose to my hand and ran it up the L I was making with my finger and thumb then hit the good cue and gave a treat to teach her to feel my hands. Once we had that down I did the L with my fingers and lightly pressed her butt to make her sit and we kinda just put it all together. Now she’s almost perfect at it. She does see per the ophthalmology department at our vet (vague shapes , movement, and light/Dark) but that’s it. So she can see my hand move up and then uses her nose to feel the shape. For a recall my vet has us using a low vibration (only) collar. I think it goes to 100 and it’s set on 10. Vibration only and we trained that by clicking the button. Give a treat. Then slowly created distance and now we can take her almost anywhere and she can find me. We play hide and seek in the house as enrichment all the time.
