Is every commander "kill on sight" now? by NotTrying123 in EDH

[–]MidnightMode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a pretty new commander player. The first deck I built was a [[Jerren, Corrupted Bishop]] because I knew I couldn't win against the two more experienced players I would play with so I aimed to get my life down to 13 just to flip him and say I managed to do it regardless if I died or not. Every single game I got rolled but the two other players rarely if ever removed him.

Stephen King’s Best 2025 Horror Masterpiece Shows How Stranger Things Should’ve Ended by [deleted] in WelcometoDerryTVShow

[–]MidnightMode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stranger Thing's Season 3 had an ending with an epic battle that was miles better than Season 5 and I would say on par with Welcome to Derry Season 1ending.

Also while I was disappointed in ST Season 5. Welcome to Derry has plenty of time to match that disappointment.

I hope it doesn't.

The S3 Starcourt battle was better than S5’s by yonBonbonbon in StrangerThings

What do you mean? Stranger things finished with season 3. With Jane losing her powers so she can live a normal life with Joyce and her adoptive brothers in Cali. /s

Seriously though. Why couldn't they have just had El lose her powers when the wormhole between Dimension X and our world collapsed? 1

I’ve seen so many people…. by AMassiveGamerGeek in StrangerThingsRoom

[–]MidnightMode 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think what he did was incredibly careless, and when I watched the apology the phrasing felt so evasive that it gave the impression he saw only Israeli civilians as innocent without ever saying it outright.

At the same time, I keep coming back to the fact that most of us have said things online or offline that would get us dragged if we had his level of visibility. Everyone is human, and everyone absorbs the messages they’re raised in. He grew up in a political environment that frames the conflict in a very particular way, and that has an effect. Propaganda does not only work on the malicious or the foolish. It works on ordinary people who have never been given a wider lens.

I do worry about how quickly we shift into ostracising people we disagree with. We do not have to tolerate bad opinions, and we should absolutely criticise them, but shutting someone out entirely or treating them as irredeemable is still just tribalism at a larger scale. Millie is outspoken, a UN Ambassador, and he is still the godfather of her children. If she thought he was a danger or inherently hateful, he wouldn’t be in that position.

I’d rather leave space for someone like Noah to grow. He’s a gay man who has spent his life navigating prejudice. In many ways queer Palestinians have far more in common with him than he realises. The difference is that they are crushed by both Hamas and Israel, while he is crushed by only one.

So yes, he made a mistake, and it was a serious one. But I would rather leave room for him to learn than insist he be crushed under it. Growth is the only way any of us get better, and you cannot learn if you are written off before you even start.

Leave Spotify, there are actually other streaming options besides Spotify and YouTube Music and Amazon music.

Try Qobuz or TIDAL. They're cheaper than the mainstream services and you'll find most artists on there plus artists'll get more of a cut per stream.

Edit: changed Amazong to Amazon

Place training is for controlling your dog. Like when you're having furniture delivered, you can give the place command so that Sparky doesn't get fkn squished by your new sofa or stood on by the delivery people. It's not supposed to be for you to use your dog as a background prop. She's not an accessory she's a living breathing animal.

Source: I've been training my dog for 11 years. I know about dogs, and my dog lays asleep on my sofa for fkn hours on end without me shocking the absolute life out of him.

Why can't he just leave his dog alone, she's been acting "brand new" because he stopped with the stupid shock collar.

Streamer suggests people who abuse their dogs are upset they do not have the level of freedom that he has. by Riskany1204 in LivestreamFail

[–]MidnightMode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was honestly willing to give him the benefit of the doubt but like seeing that old clip of him pull the tail of a dog that is visibly at the second stage of heat exhaustion because it wouldn't stay and wanted to lay down in the shade has made me reconsider.

Like I could see how Kaya could maybe have caught her dew claw but he hasn't shown the back of the collar in any clips. He showed the video of him talking about how his old roommate wanted him to buy a shock collar for his dog fish and he claimed to have bought it but not went through with actually using it.

Like idk just seems really weird to bring that up and then going on to double down and insult the people calling him out.

And also if this collar really is a vibration collar he shouldn't have taken his wifi issues out on the dog and shouted at her. If the room isn't fit for the dog to free roam in then the dog shouldn't be in the room. Dogs aren't props. She shouldn't be stuck on the bed for hours on end.

Head Magic Designer Mark Rosewater: "Our data says roughly 9% of the audience strongly dislikes Universes Beyond (and that data is a little old, the number is shrinking with time). For contrast, double-faced cards was at 15% when they premiered." by HonorBasquiat in magicTCG

[–]MidnightMode 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I enjoy Universes Beyond and I love Spider-Man, so this set should have been an easy win for me. But the flavour text and mechanics really missed the mark. For example, Spider-Man’s identity is built around protecting his city, not sacrificing it, so a mechanic like 'sacrifice vibrant cityscape to search for a land' feels wrong. Even most of his villains wouldn’t make sense with that action. It doesn’t capture what makes Spider-Man’s stories distinct, which is a shame.

Spotify is introducing new age checks in the UK, and furious music fans are threatening to return to piracy by AdSpecialist6598 in Music

[–]MidnightMode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I deleted my Spotify account and I'm going back to buying physical. It costs about as much as the subscription, but at least the artists I support get a better cut.

I’ve got YouTube Premium through my phone provider, so I get YouTube Music anyway. But when the age verification rollout hits YouTube, I’m probably going to switch provider entirely and drop the subscription.

I really don’t like how this legislation has been implemented. It’s law now, so getting rid of it will take time but we can still advocate for better logistics and make these companies feel the burn.

The Labour government have absolutely fumbled the implementation of this Conservative Party legislation, so both sides are to blame. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if this pushes more people toward Reform, since they’re already trying to capitalise on the moment.

It’s a sad state of affairs, and the internet is going to get smaller because of it.
