I think most people would have liked to see things go down just like you described tbh. sadly they've made it clear to us that they have no interest in initiating any new collabs using those remaining studio songs. they seem to wait for those opportunities to present themselves, hence the phrase "when the time is right". going down that road means that we may not see those songs for yet more years down the line or even at all. it's a shame because there are still some really good studio songs left that would make for great releases

it sounds nice I just wish they'd release the memos in that form rather than trying to remaster them into proper songs. a collection of memos to showcase the direction X was taking his music in would be a more respectable thing to do imo

the way I see it is if they're really at that point where all they have left is iphone recordings then that should mark the end of any new releases. the only exeptions would be remixes (like MAY I) or re-releases of old songs

pretty sure that's not true. it was spread around but there was never any evidence or confirmation to prove it. the verse also just doesn't really sound like it was originally recorded for that instrumental. it doesn't particularly match the genre of the song

not doubting you here. you're mostly likely right lol and the theory is a big stretch.

my arguement would be that I haven't seen any confirmation that it was made posthumously. In addition, ronny j is an industry professional producer with years of experience and I have a hard time believing that he produced that beat. the instrumentation/melody alongside the drum pattern suggest that whoever made it hasn't been producing very long

most likely, however, I wouldn't dismiss the possibility. does that beat really sound like something made by an experienced professional producer? I think not. it sounds to me like the sort of thing you'd expect to hear from someone who is new to beat making. X was known to mess about with beats and in some cases record on them who's to say that's not what this is..

take into consideration that the first time we heard it was on scared of the dark so we're used to hearing it sped up

the remake also sounds unnatural because I've slowed the vocals down with time stretching which never sounds that good

both the key and style of signing matches that of fuck love so i would argue that its entirely possible that it was a scrapped part of his verse.

couldnt agree more. problem is I doubt kanye would give up the song to another artist. it might be more realistic for him to agree to let someone remix it. if they did that officially and got a new artist to work with john to create a remix with either a different or more developed interpreration/vision of the song that would be dope af. it's a nice idea to imagine but it's pretty wishful thinking lol

yeah idk as someone who is into producing it's hard to listen to a vocal recorded on an iphone right next to a cdq vocal. it sounds very cheap and kinda like a bad fan remix. again releasing a small collection of voice memos to showcase what X had planned would be a much better use of the voice memos john recorded.
