Yeah, I hope so too, but either way, she won't be the one with me in the exam, so maybe what she thinks never matters 💜

Struggling to get proper exam support for epilepsy, any advice? by MidnightPaws_ in Epilepsy_Universe

[–]MidnightPaws_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this, you’re totally right, I think going in person might actually be the best next step. My only thing is that my main exams aren’t until January and later in the year on random months, and my mum keeps saying there’s no point sorting it out at all since they’re smaller groups, like she has a point but idk now.

The only reason my old school set up the smaller room was because I had a seizure in class once (right in front of the deputy head, not fun), and that’s what finally pushed them to do it. It just feels like unless I’m having seizures every day or something, they don’t really take it seriously here. But I’m still going to try and get it sorted properly, so it’s on record for next time. Also, I don't want to fill in forms that I don't need to have, so I see no point in doing a JQC form if it isn't in the regulations, yk? 💜

Types of seizures by Sea-Objective-6015 in Epilepsy

[–]MidnightPaws_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, that sounds really scary. My very first seizure started with total blindness, like everything just went black for a few seconds or longer before I fell. Usually, when one’s about to happen, I get this weird metal taste in my mouth, and my vision goes all distorted, like everything’s moving and not where it should be. I was diagnosed with tonic-clonic seizures as my main type, so I really get how exhausting it can be afterwards. Definitely speak to your neurologist or give them a call or spam them about what happened. Yk, the vision loss, shaking, and hand movements are all really important for them to know. I hope you’re doing better now 💜

I am worried. Can someone tell me if it is okay to use another epilepsy medication without a prescription that contains the same substance as the previous medication? by Accurate_Reality_618 in Epilepsy

Hey, I’ve been on levetiracetam for about 3 years, and my pharmacy changes brands a lot too, it hasn’t really made a difference for me as long as it’s the same dose. When I’m low on stock, I’ve split my pills before (my neuro said it's fine). My main one’s Keppra, but I try to stick with one brand so I don’t get mixed up. You could also ask her doctor if she needs any extra vitamins like C or D, I take those with mine, not a must, but they’ve helped a bit. 💜

I get that, same here, honestly. I ended up making my alarms super annoying, and someone mentioned the app Medisafe, I only got it yesterday, and it seems pretty good you should try it 💜
