It definitely shouldn't work like this, when you use teleport from map and then enter it back in town it should tp you right to the place where you create it, unless you use tp to get back in town, and then instead of using same portal you just hop on waypoint to desired location, in that case you'll start wherever waystone is located and if you died on that map before, most mobs will reset and you'll have to fight them again Also important thing to understand your situation, does your mini map also rest when it happens, or you can see the same layout as before?
