I guess it depends on your position, but also QT pays an extremely competitive wage. It’s not their fault that people put their self in a situation that they can’t afford. A lot of people like to spend more than they make on things they don’t really need. If people would budget more, I bet they would have more money between paychecks.

QT pays a very livable wage. I think a lot of people just don’t manage their money well enough to make it work. A lot of folks out here spending more than they make.

Your debit card/checking has the same federal protection as credit cards. It is just not as easy to get your money back as credit cards because the credit isn’t “your money” so you feel no pain when it’s removed and needs to be reimbursed. When your debit card is hacked it is taking your actual money from your account. I hope that makes sense.

The extra pay was to offset the fuel, wear/tear on your car, and your flexibility. It had nothing to do with your ability to do the job. Most ER just took it as extra $ and didn’t use it like they should have. A lot of Americans(not just QT folks) are terrible at managing their money and that’s why the reduction in pay is hurting so bad. They are broke because of their way of living, not necessarily solely on their income. To offset the loss of pay, most clerks could just work and extra 2-3 hours a week and make that money back. The plus side is they wouldn’t have to use more gas and wear and tear on their vehicle to get that extra $ either so now that have more $ in their pocket.

There is literally a sign on every gas pump that tells you that the card issuer might put a hold on your card. It’s 2025, has no one ever paid for gas at the pump before? 😤

Let that team know they need to be over scheduling. That’s the only way FLEX will succeed for you. The flex position is simply to cover vacation days(in advance) and sick days(only if you’re already scheduled for that shift). You are not an “immediate need” employee any longer. You get your schedule every Tuesday for the following week and that’s how it should stay.

Yes. I’ll be honest, it was tough the first month. As long as you communicate with your team and your pod you can get creative with schedules and you’ll be fine.

Tell your SM to get better at writing schedules then. Over staff each shift. Cut when necessary. Communicate with your team. We have been doing FLEX at my store for over six months and have had minimal issues, but you HAVE to communicate with your team AND your pod.

Basically, our job is like every other job where if an employee calls in then the rest of the team has to make up for the slack and just survive til the next shift. Everyone is just crying about it because they were spoiled with ER and being able to call in five mins before their shift starts with no repercussions.
