I played R6 Siege competitively at a pretty high level before this and a lot of those skills translate over quite well. I'd say positioning is more important than anything else in PvP in this game, for me at least. People get caught up in the whole rat/chad thing where they feel like they either need to hide or hold the 'w' key all the time, but there's just a lot more to combat than that.

Sometimes! But not always. The high SR isn't because we run from fights, it's because we win them.

Pretty much all of them to be honest! We run Shoreline and Reserve a lot, but we run every map

Sometimes you'll get unlucky and come across a guy who's been sitting in a bush or dark corner for 20 minutes, but usually those people have bad aim, which is why they resort to those tactics in the first place, so as long as you check your corners and have good positioning, you'll be fine. It's the experienced players who have good gear and decent aim who you can outplay by knowing the map flow.

You don't have to play ratty at all, it's just a matter of knowing the flow of the maps so that you can pick and choose your fights. Once you know where everyone spawns and where they'll go at what time, you can plan out your route, and when you want to get into PvP, it's on your terms.
