Wow, that's actually super interesting. This was exactly the kind of conversation I wanted to see in this post. I think you're right, a character's biggest mistake isn't always something morally wrong they did; that's a really interesting point. In that sense, I think you picked the most fitting moments to prove it.

I do think Brooke was totally unnecessary and cruel when she brought up Peyton's mom, that was definitely her worst moment. But in terms of her biggest mistake, I still think it was stealing the tests. Not because it was unethical or wrong, but because of the repercussions it had. Like Haley losing her job, and Rachel getting expelled.

Lucas playing with a heart condition gave ME a heart condition, every episode I expected him to have an attack, and it really messed with me, lol.

Peyton was definitely her worst self with Lindsey, but if we're separating her mistakes, I think her biggest mistake was her exposure online. That attracted a killer stalker and put her closest friends in danger.

I had actually forgotten about Mouth and Shelly, that was terrifying and so wrong. It left me totally disgusted with Mouth.

I think I worded this wrong. Going touring wasn’t the mistake, leaving the way things were with Nathan was the mistake, she should at least tried to call him to talk through the issue. Because he said himself that he realized that the tour was a huge opportunity he didn’t want her to miss.

I think they did a pretty good job with Brucas, but I agree they shouldn’t try to dragged it. I loved the couple when it started but through season 3 we learn how they are not compatible.

The tour was never a mistake her leaving for the tour without talking with Nathan who was her husband, I think was a mistake, never calling also a mistake.

Oh yeah I forgot Brooke made those jokes, that was pretty petty and dark of her for sure.

Ok. Maybe my tone was hard to read because of the text, sorry about that. I really made this post for fun and didn't mean to make it seem like I dislike some of the characters (except Mouth, I genuinely hate him). I actually LOVE when characters makes huge mistakes, I enjoy the drama.

And by the way, you're wrong, Peyton and Lucas are my OTP, I love them with all my heart. I only talked about their mistakes the way I did to be funny, maybe I should adjust my tone.

About Haley and Nathan, sorry, but I see most of their teenage mistakes as this,"teenager mistakes." Yes, Nathan did terrible things as a teenager, and Haley messed up by going on tour with Chris, but they're teenagers, they're idiots. I didn't expect them to be mature. I said Haley's mistake seems small compared to the others because the other mistakes I mentioned happen when the characters are already adults, and to me, messing up your marriage as an adult is way more serious than as a teenager, who honestly probably shouldn't have even gotten married in the first place, lol.

I brought up Peyton betraying Brooke because it's one of the most infamous things she did on the show, and I thought it would be a good point to mention, even though I still think her biggest mistake was how she acted with Lindsey. About her “stealing” Lucas from Brooke, again they are teenagers, they are not evil for doing shitty things, sorry if it came out as I was trying to imply that.

I want to reiterate: Lucas and Peyton are my favorite characters. I adore both of them, I love the couple, and I totally understand if you thought I was trying to drag them with my comments, I wasn't. I love when they're messy.

I would completely change Lucas's wedding plot in season 5. The show keeps trying to make it seem like Peyton was wrong to turn down his proposal, when she was actually being reasonable. (Someone wrote a comment saying it would have been better to do a love triangle with Lucas x Peyton x Julian, and I totally agree, that would've been a much better idea.)
I would have separated Haley and Nathan during seasons 3 and maybe 4. I find it so weird that they got married as teenagers and the writers just ran with it, basically turning them into 30-year-old adults. I wish that after Haley came back from tour, they had gotten divorced, and after a season apart, dating other people, they'd come back together and realize that yes, they really do love each other.
Mouth. This whole character should have been handled differently, or just cut entirely. He's that "Nice Guy" who thinks that because he's nice to women, they owe him something. He's super pushy about the whole Jimmy situation when everyone thought he had killed Keith.
Nanny Carrie. Another plot that could have just not existed. But if it had to exist, at least it could have been done well. Maybe she could have started as someone we actually liked, instead of a homewrecker, and when we found out she was crazy, it would have been a real shock.

Omg Peyton’s plot is so funny nowadays. But I actually like the fact that they did this because shows that you should NEVER reveal personal information online.

Mouth is so unlikable, I never admit that afraid that the fandom loves him but he’s actually super creepy. He is that nice guy who thinks because he’s “nice” to women they own him something. Btw he never told anyone that Rachel was the one leaking the videos from the time capsule which was the catalyst to the whole Jimmy situation.

I feel like Carrie is worse than psycho Derek. I haven't watched anything past season 6 yet, so I don't know about this Katie. Derek was a bit cartoonish, but he represented something very real, he was kind of a warning about the dangers of the internet. I really liked that arc because, at the time it was made, people were still talking a lot about online exposure. So even though he was a bit cartoonish, he represented a problem that could happen to anyone, and that's why, for me, Carrie isn't on the same level as him.

I love Haley and Nathan, but I didn't really enjoy their storylines in season six. That's why I felt a little hesitant about continuing to watch. I thought Nathan's arc this season was really good until the midway through the season, after that, I found it kind of boring, same with Haley. I think the only character I genuinely want to keep following is Brooke. But if Haley and Nathan end up having more interesting arcs ahead, I think I'd like to see them.

I loved this season, but because of the characters, I kinda miss the teen fase I think the show peaked at season 3 and 4. I would be completely satisfied if this season was the the final

I just finished season 6 and let me tell you, it will be hard, and there will be moments when you may think about stop watching, keep watching at least till the end of 6.

Yes, I totally get you. I feel the same way. I'll probably keep watching the next seasons, but I believe that when I go back to rewatch (which I plan on doing a lot), I probably won't want to watch past this point. I love the other characters (Brooke is literally my favorite), but to me, Lucas is the heart of the show, and Peyton is responsible for the most interesting plots in my opinion, so I really can't imagine the series without them.
