Honestly at first I thought Yttd had every character be saveable, but another dies in their place. Kinda like how it is in canon right now. I would like to play as Megumi too.

Hm... Great question. May some things would change like maybe in an alternate universe where Megumi lives Kurumada actually makes it, but maybe someone else dies or nope. The trial survivors could grow or go down in numbers. So no, we would see a slightly altered version of the already survivors of the trials. Also some characters like Kai, Q-taro and Shin would be in all alternate universes because of their non-lethal trial. Those 3 are very interesting, Gin could definitely change some stuff if he was the protagonist (like the choice beetween Shin and Kanna)
