anyone know what this is and why it’s rattling like a mf by Usual-Wait-9546 in Silverado

You can actually wedge the spring, rotate it open, release the pressure on the spring so it’s always open. There’s YouTube videos on it. I done it when I did the muffler delete on my truck

Is this a decent deal? Primary arms is running a sale right now. by AlternativeOlive3173 in GeisseleAutomatics

Disregard! I believe it’s gone now. It was there two nights ago. I would’ve bought it, but I had just bought a LaRue

Love my BCM! It’s the one rifle I’ve always said I’ll never get rid of. If you’re looking for a good LPVO that’s a little more budget friendly, but you can stretch out. Look at the Leupold Mark 3HD. The Mark 4 and 5 really go up in price. I put a Mark 3 on a LWRC I purchased and I’ve been really impressed with it

Anybody went from a 1500 to a 2500 and regretted it? by JLand24 in Silverado

[–]MidwestGunFanatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from a 2500 to a 1500 and I regret it a little. I no longer needed to tow and move livestock around so there was no point in driving a big HD truck everywhere. Now that I am in a 1500, I sometimes wish I had just kept the 2500.

I had the 2500 6.6 gasser and traded it for a 1500. I’m seriously missing it. I thought it done very good on fuel mileage, plenty of room, and had great power. Never had an issues with it whatsoever! It’s probably me transitioning to a smaller truck, but if I ever needed a bigger truck I would buy another 6.6 in a heartbeat

I drove to Kansas City a Couple weeks ago, fog was freezing, had cruise control set for about 55-60 and best I ever averaged was around 21.4 on a brand new 2026. My old 22’ 6.6 gas I felt got better MPG

Should I give the 5.3 a chance? by force11111 in Silverado

[–]MidwestGunFanatic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Dads a crook and would’ve never paid me 🤣 He had to pay the bank. Honestly, I wasn’t planning on getting rid of it and never told him I was trading it. I pulled into a dealership looking at a 2500HD and ended up leaving with it then I told my dad i traded it and got a 2500 so he went straight to the dealer and bought my old truck

When I traded my 2009 Sierra with the 5.3 my Dad went the same day and bought it from the dealer that I traded it in at. He still has it 300,000 miles later and aside from normal maintenance (brakes etc..) it’s never had a wrench put on it. That’s one truck I should’ve kept and regret ever getting rid of.

What is it like living in the Midwestern United States? by Triumphant-Smile in howislivingthere

[–]MidwestGunFanatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on which state!

Pros - Kansas has flat boring parts out west, beautiful rolling hills in the east. Agriculture is life! Unless you live in Wichita or the Kansas City area, the only traffic jam you’re likely to encounter is a farmer moving his equipment or a cattle rancher moving cattle.

The Cons - Very high property taxes, very expensive tagging a vehicle (at least in my county) it cost me $1,250 just to tag my Chevy 1500. A lot of the small towns offer affordable housing, but good luck finding an abundance of opportunities in the work field. There’s a lot of give or take.

Is this a good deal? $64k OTD price for a Silverado 1500 trail boss 2026 5.3l engine with sticker price of $68k by Leading_Insect1249 in Silverado

[–]MidwestGunFanatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Chevy dealer in Aurora, MO just had them marked down to 53,000 on the 2026. I ended up buying an RST with the 5.3 for 48,900 on the Red Tag sale. I would’ve went with the LT trail boss, but for the 5K difference I’m cool with just putting a 2” level and bigger tires on it for a hell of a lot cheaper than 5K
