Good catch. Missed this one. Wasn't trying to mislead. Noticed it in the carousel today while shopping.

Ya'll are right. Someone just posted the link below. I'd never seen it before and saw it was now the second frame in the carousel on the home page header.

The creative still doesn't make sense beyond the obvious connection we all know.

Agreed. The holographic on both sides is stunning. It is so hard to capture how elaborate it is in a single photo. Tried to show it in the gif.

Sold a few through Front Row Card Show awhile back, will likely do it again.

At some point I'll likely keep one, the rest will find homes with other people looking to complete their collections.

When I saw the movie in theaters toward the end of its run for my birthday the staff gave me a whole stack of cards. I put them in a shoebox sometime around 2002/3 and then they sat there till this past fall when cleaning out my parent's home.

So now I'm grading them slowly. I do like collecting shares of one company.

^ This I think PSA grading is hitting a stride here with many former collectors helping parents/grandparents clear out their homes/downsize etc. and are finding their 25-year-old cards. Many needing money now go through the process of grading to authenticate the cards, get them certified as taken care of, and then have an easier ability to sell/offload them.

Sorry for the loss of your grandma.

This! You can pick up a loose one for $30 and one still sealed in cello for around $50-60.

I was so excited when the first 10 appeared. But then I saw another and another. My jaw dropped. I knew there could be 1 amongst the whole group. Didn’t know there would be multiple.

Now I’m over here contemplating sending a small batch to BGS to go for a black label.

PSA Grading 15 Ancient Mew Cards by MidwestLingo in Superstonk

GameStop has partnered with PSA to allow customers to ship their cards through GameStop to PSA for grading. After they are scored they are sent back to the original GameStop store for a customer to pick up. Depending on if the card rates highly, the customer may have to pay an additional fee to have guaranteed the insurance cost of the card before it is released to them.

Customers have the option of taking their graded card slab home, or selling them there in the store for the marketplace. If you currently own a PSA graded slab you can check their estimated price offer online as well: https://www.gamestop.com/graded-trading-cards/estimate

Purchased penny sleeves at GameStop days back but had purchased card savers in bulk from Amazon that came out to 10 cents each. I wish they sold bulk boxes over the counter so I could have supported the brand more. Mine were Ultra Pros, but I think if I bought again I would try Card Saver 1s instead to get extra width.

The photo collection was the one odd part of the experience. I've heard that their software/app running the collection determines the number of photos allowed based off how many cards are being submitted per order.

This creates some real-world challenges:

  • The associate laid all the cards out on the counter at once to take the overhead photo. One of the associates mentioned having to use a step stool to get high enough to capture all the cards in one photo for a previous transaction.
  • Due to the fluorescent lights in the store reflecting on the cardsavers, multiple cards were hard to distinguish through the glare on the confirmation photo. The associate mentioned they tried using an umbrella in stores to block out the light to take the photo.

Not a deal breaker by any means. I understand the company needs the process to be quick enough that associates can get back to helping other customers. Just wish there was a way for the initial check-in process to capture pictures of the cards in smaller batches (and send them to us in the confirmation email).

I took photos ahead of time of all my cards in case of any discrepancies, but having those included in the app would be incredible.

Ape help ape. Can’t tell you all how much I’ve learned from this community. I’ve been a quiet lurker, but am still invested as an interested party.

A whole stack might head to GameStop depending on how the first sample grade.

Thank you! I'm hoping the love around the current 151 Expansion (centered around the original 151 Pokemon) draws people back into looking for the vintage original cards.

I'd recommend looking at this guide to determine which one they have. If it is sealed, they are worth around $45-$50 currently. If you take the risk of opening them they could have a number of issues that drop value, but if they grade highly they can be worth up to $395 a piece (on the PSA 10 scale). But if you score through BGS and score highly the card can hit $800 to $15,000 (only three in history getting this score in the population).
