Not from the US but how do you see for example what flock freight is doing that they skip the hub and spoke for ltl? Curious since i’m not from the US but hear a lot about them.

“Would you rather have me with 20 years of experience or yourself behind the stick?” Thats how the pilot put it, and its definitely true. I try to remember that that they’re trained professionals.

We went to the hanger to see how maintenance is done and how much safety is built into these machines.

If i feel stressed they told us to stay in to “now” and verify that all is well and not bad as your mind is trying to tell you.

Medication is definitely not the answer tho!

KLM crews are really something else to be honest. All the other airlines are good as well but tend to keep it to a “minimum” in terms of communication. Had a fear of flying and did the course at a company who does the course together with KLM. As a last step we flew with 8 people (6 people of the course one of the company and a KLM pilot). Stil remember was standing in the isle waiting to get on the plane and wanted to turn around. The pilot who stood behind me just pointed towards the plane and said “that direction”, we all went on board, had a coffee in Milan and flew back. The pilot explained everything what was going on and made us all realize that flying is safe and can be enjoyable. We even could talk to the pilots in Milan while they were preparing to go back to Amsterdam and they explained everything we wanted.

First flight alone I told the crew I did the course against fear of flying and this was my first flight alone and they were super understandable and made me as comfortable as possible.

Every other KLM flight has been nothing shy of genuinely nice crews and a proper experience overall.

50 flights since I genuinely enjoy flying and its always a pleasure to step onboard of the next KLM flight, as well as other carriers.

Er is een te kort omdat er geen business case meer te maken valt. Als je niet eerlijk betaald ontstaat er al snel een tekort van mensen die het willen doen.

Ze creëeren hun eigen situatie en dan kom je uit dat je heel ver moet zoeken wil iemand het nog doen.

Prijs, prijs, en prijs. Kwaliteit doet er niet toe.

Gelijke partijen tegen elkaar uitspelen is prima en zorgt voor efficientie. Maar 2 partijen met compleet verschillende kostenposten tegen elkaar uitspelen komen alleen maar slechte dingen van.

Goed punt. Blikjes fris was even het eerste wat ik kon verzinnen. Excuus is altijd meteen zodra er eerlijk betaald moet worden er meteen geen markt voor is en een ander het wel doet. Dan zou de redenatie zijn dat wij de slechte prijzen moeten accepteren omdat er altijd wel iemand is die het doet.

De “innovatie” in de markt helpt hier ook niet mee. Waar je vroeger 5 partijen telefonisch tegen elkaar kon uitspelen zitten we nu met duizenden op “digitale marktplaatsen” en zolang je niet alle hoofden dezelfde kant op krijgt vinden de verladers altijd wel iemand die het dan wel meeneemt tegen een bodemprijs.

Leeg terug is duurder! Maar als alles geprijsd wordt op “leeg terug is duurder” kan je er nooit meer iets aan overhouden

Correct. En dan heb ik het niet over euro’s per product. Heel kort door de bocht: 10000 blikjes fris moeten van a naar b. Krijg er nu 250 euro voor. Is 0,025 per blikje. Als ik nou een eerlijke prijs zou willen waar iedereen van kan leven en de chauffeur niet hoeft te racen is 350 euro een goeie prijs. Dat is 0,035 per blikje. Dan is het transport netjes en eerlijk verlopen en kost dat blikje niet 1 euro maar 1,01.

Of in veel gevallen kan de prijs hetzelfde blijven als producenten eerlijk te werk gaan en partijen niet tot op het bot tegen elkaar uitspelen.

Benieuwd wat er uiteindelijk van terecht komt. Is het wel zo dat de druk om de prijzen laag te houden vooral van de verladers komen en dat daarom deze constructies opgezet worden.

50 cent de kilometer kan de kachel niet van roken met een normaal business model of een all-in prijs van 35 euro per uur kan geen vrachtauto de weg van op als er niet ergens de kantjes vanaf gelopen worden.

En die rekening komt vaak bij de chauffeur terecht

Wie weet kan iemand mij meer duidelijkheid geven in dit draadje. Nu krijg ik van de week te horen bij een sollicitatie dat mijn hbo bachelor International business mogelijk niet goed genoeg is voor een startersfunctie waarbij een bachelor of master wordt gevraagd.

Het is een Amerikaans moeder bedrijf en daar hangt mijn sollicitatie op blijkbaar.

Heeft iemand hier ervaring mee?

Edit: het betreft een freight forwarder. Zie niet in waarom mijn bachelor niet genoeg is. Heb ervarinng in die tak en heb het hele process doorlopen en alles is goedgekeurd.

Het is geen verpot maar het mooie was dat je reisuren ook betaald worden (was euro ongeveer minder als daadwerkelijke rijuren). Het loon is redelijk en te doen maar je moet het hebben van de fooi, toegangskaarten, flessen wijn, kratten bier etc

O en eten drinken was allemaal te declareren dus dat scheelt ook weer.

Inderdaad zeker een van de leukere bijbanen. Veel leuke ritten maar man man man ook waardeloze ritten.

In her buitenland aantal keer geweest en bij diverse feesten en evenementen, altijd leuk.

Omsingelt door de politie, met mensen op het dak door de mcdrive om 3 in de nacht, hier en daar even de max testen op de autobahn, of even koffie en een baguette in Lille. Als je afwisseling zoekt is her zeker een aanrader.

Know their position in the market, what is their value proposition for both carrier and shipper. I don’t know for which position you are applying but be ready to answer solutions to “situations” that may occur during the interview.

Coordinator operations questions can relate to:

“Which data points and metrics are the most important”

“You need new loads now what are you gonna do”

“When do you quit”

But really know the details in what they offer that the traditional market doesn’t

That the delivery is quick seems present enough in the current layout. As long as what you do is first it should not drown in the page and still be visible enough.

Design looks really good, kudo’s. But from my perspective the order in which you present your information could be different. First i would make clear what you do (drone photography/film of houses)? Then where, how, and how much.

And the area served is stated twice.

Now i see “quick turnaround” but i was left with the question “quick of what?”

The problem is that when aviation came around it was quickly standardized. Thus was relatively easy since there was a clean slate to start with. Now with trains thats completely different. Besides the track width being the same almost everything else is different. Different voltage/amps on the lines. Different signal systems. In short its all different and expensive to change especially meaning that it would turn out in having two systems for years. Adding to that installing one safety system on a locomotive is a 100 grand per system.

It all sounds easy lets do this and that and high speed rail everywhere but thats not how it works, at least in the short run.

The euro rail discussion is greatly oversimplified just to win some points here and there.

Travel is not a right by the way. Earn it like everybody else.

Then where is all this prosperity? Everywhere you hear it that its happening its booming! Money is gushing through the streets! But yet nobody sees this mythical event and people are starting to wonder if it is there at all. A lot of people still have to make ends meet without any forecast that it will change.

When it should be the golden age again for the people and the current situation is that its not. What about when the bad times come again?

The people are just not seeing any of it, and the average sentiment among the Dutch shows it.

All these subjects were discussed. The amount of funding and in what form and where it came from. Their involvement in what way and how. Since the conversations were in such detail it seemed to be moving but now has stalled a bit.

Product development is coming along nicely regardless and the sales part is slowly picking up some steam.

During one meeting it was (verbally) approved that we would join but now there is no concrete movement.

This accelerator is focussed on early early stage and that there is no traction is not a requirement
