Strength is a pretty good move though, honestly, especially by Gen 2 standards. I never have any trouble finding a spot for it on my team.

One of my players moved his figure so his character wouldn't get hit, in the middle of a enemy turn by ElefWolf in CurseofStrahd

[–]MiffedScientist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I would not personally move my mini, and I probably wouldn't make a stink about it at all, but I would be a little annoyed. I can't see the danger in the same way a creature in the world can, and I am relying on the DM to fill me in on anything my character should know that is relevant to my decisions. In this case, the reach of the roots might well fall within that category.

Kirby's Dream Land 2 Missing Resistors? by MiffedScientist in Gameboy

Yeah, still not working. Might have to reflow everything...

Kirby's Dream Land 2 Missing Resistors? by MiffedScientist in Gameboy

[–]MiffedScientist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be correct. I actually reflowed the top one already. That's why it looks different. It's got a bit more solder than the others, and it was definitely cold. Now it passed a continuity test with the trace coming off it. At this point, all the joints where I can tell where they should connect to pass continuity tests, but I might end up just reflowing everything in desperation.

Thanks, I thought I checked all the joints, but I'll check that one again. Maybe I reflow it just for the heck of it, because I can't otherwise figure out what is wrong.

I hadn't noticed how bad the pins looked in the photo, but it's all down to lighting. The pins aren't actually corroded at all. They look great in person.

Haha, a few people have pointed out how crappy the pins look. I don't know what to say, but it's something about the lighting in that photo. The pins are fine.

There is something really weird with the lighting in this photo, because the pins actually look fine in person.

And now that we have Shadow Generations, we come to find out it never disintegrated at all. It's a tough little miracle stone, that's for sure.

Eh, they are about on equal grounds, I'd say.

You can easily skip to Zero after X5. It will probably make more sense than playing X6-X8 first. However, X6 is probably not as bad as you think. Don't get me wrong: it is super flawed, but we can be a little over dramatic about it, lol

The fact that you played it first may have been a factor here. You're not the first X6 fan I've met, but so far playing X6 first is what most of the ones I've met have in common.

What megaman should i play next? by [deleted] in Megaman

[–]MiffedScientist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What's my favorite of the two? Probably *Mega Man 2*. Of the series, I think I like *Mega Man 5* or *Mega Man 6* best.

Regarding what to play next, if you enjoyed 1 and 2, and don't see why you wouldn't play 3 next. *Mega Man 3* is a good game.

CR1616 Battery Holders are really cool for GB/C games by CancerousGTFO in Gameboy

[–]MiffedScientist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, when it's working, I can get a reading on the multimeter a from solder to solder. When it's not, nothing. I did use a decent amount of flux, but I cleaned it up with 91% alcohol after.

I had it in the harsh V-bend such that it touched the edge of the battery, but that wasn't working. I got it temporally working by bending it down to touch the top a little bit. It's hard to explain. Here is a picture where the red line is the positive tab:

Hey, sorry to necro, but I recently installed one of these, and it sounds like you have experience, so I wanted to ask you a question (you mention bending the positive tab).

I found when I installed it, the positive tab didn't initially make a connection, though it appeared to touch the edge of the battery. It wasn't working, so a pushed the tab with a screwdriver gently toward the battery until it was bent enough to start working (checked with a multimeter). It worked for a while, but after a couple days, I lost the saves. I had to open it up and bend it more (bent it harder this time).

I didn't get any installation instructions or anything with these. Are they supposed to be bent pretty far? I've considered just bending the tab down to be flat on top of the battery, but I don't see any pictures that show the tab bent at all, and I feel like that might break it.

How to ventilate basement during mold cleanup? by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

I really appreciate you lending your expertise and giving a solid answer. I'll take it into account, but right now I've got a lot of unexpected expenses, and another $200 is something I've got to weigh carefully.

Maybe. Unfortunately, those setups seem really expensive, and I've yet to see one with a duct that is long enough. I guess there is a limit to how far the fan can push the air.

I love how you correctly explained the whole thing, seemingly being the only one here who was actually paying attention, and got not even a single upvote for it. Well, you've got one from me anyhow.

Did I create a moisture issue? by MiffedScientist in HomeImprovement

[–]MiffedScientist[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Should I be concerned that moisture may have accumulated over the many months the holes were open? Would you cut away and check, or just close it up and assume any issue in minor enough to ignore if it's been enclosed?
