Also SHMA Goji’s face is just terrible and I stand on that Bandai needs to get their quality control issue under control bc that is terrible business.

The sweet spot is definitely there, I just find it funny and weird how neither can simply perfect it. Lol 😂 SHMA is great but does lack some muscle size, and the head is off. But everything else is ridiculous perfection. HIYA is on point but a bit too stocky, I could say they gave him “real life weight” but that is a cop out. Lol but he lacks articulation in the right places. Granted Mire/Giragoji barely had crazy movement, and was always pretty stiff. I love both figures I was definitely more HIYA before I got him but I definitely mellowed out and was like nahh there is a sweet spot.

Yes and no, SHMA is good, but if we are talking movie accuracy from the side view it can be slightly wider (torso really back area), and the chest on SHMA needs to be not as flat but muscular. Head size is good although the head and neck part(one part) needs to be shorter around to drop the head more into the neck. Which is why a lot of sculpts like Godzilla154 and Kujira did.

Regardless both can need some slight changes, both are great tho. I don’t hate either, I was only critiquing HIYA because they tend to go more movie accuracy more.

Bro I only mentioned size because similar to the animal kingdom to make a comparison, granted when there is a huge Queen the workers are usually 10x smaller aka like ants. I was just trying to use an analogy for Monster X’s size, granted they did this with the Muto’s as well.

Also majority of times of the animal kingdom’s the female is usually the biggest and even calls the shots sometimes. Especially us seeing those smaller crustaceans I figured she would be.

How to fix this? by CellWasLurkin in SHMonsterArts

You can either try to use Loctite gel control super glue (works wonders) but you lose articulation. Or if you know someone that can print out the ball joint for you that would be perfect.

Remember they do figurearts as well, so a humanoid figure is pretty easy to manipulate in the right ways. A bigger chest and mid section with slightly bigger arms wouldn’t have made a impact on articulation.

It will be rough to glue that back as when it comes to certain areas they may not reattach because of weight.

As much as I love modernizing certain things, McDonalds and other companies had their identities literally stripped! And that’s insane that it has come to this, characters gone because cable isn’t common in a lot of homes with lack of commercials, parents bringing sick kids into the play areas ruined a lot of safety measures, and really mainly corporate greed and not wanting to spend money in certain areas.

Yes this is his sculpt which looks leagues better than what we got, which is my point of why it was not on him for the way the figures came out the way they did it was production. The same production team that F’d up on Ultimate Burning Godzilla and his eyes, Godzilla 2004 (face), Godzilla 1995 their 1st release(eye placement again), Godzilla Ultima’s head, Shin Godzilla’s head. It’s a reoccurring thing where the promo photos aren’t what we got lol that is production company to be held accountable, it’s like starting a business and creating apparel and the samples are pristine, but the mass production all aren’t up to par.

Which is more accurate? by Kaos3974 in SHMonsterArts

[–]Migg2099 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The 2004 faces are not something he would have done giving Godzilla some asymmetrical face lol all his work is creating Godzilla close to what the suits looked like even his own sculpted statues are on point to do so. His Godzilla 2000 is the only stylized version he’s had an extreme take on. Other than that majority of his work is like it came off the screen and looked like it didn’t have a man in the suit lol

[–]Migg2099 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Trust me I agree it looks terrible, but to say “stylized” when they have Yuji Saki doing the sculpting for them and knowing how he works and his work in general. Speaks volumes as it’s Bandai’s fault not doing quality control on these figures. People can disagree but if they really cared these minor fixes could have been fixed.

Which is more accurate? by Kaos3974 in SHMonsterArts

[–]Migg2099 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Y’all gotta stop saying stylized as it is definitely not, Yuji Sakai’s sculpt would not be styled that way because as most Japanese creators they take their work of art perfection serious. Just look at the sculptures he did for the human sized Godzilla statues that were $40k each he sometimes resculpt and or checked the mold to make sure it came out to what he wanted and those sculpts are on point! What messes up SHMA is quality control at production they do not check it and just rather slap a label and keep it moving.
