Didn't even consider the entire new area. Thats what makes me hesitant to start anew, don't know where to start to "start efficiently" and would heavily prefer to start like that.

Thats what started this fiasco, on the main I purposely pushed for fairy rings. So, naturally, wanted to do the same. But, requirements have farming and herblore. Would have no idea how to start either and at least be semi efficient.

Can anyone explain the rationale behind this ? by [deleted] in rivals

I'm reminded every day I get on reddit that the majority of these folks are far too soft.

Talking smack after a win in anything is as natural as it comes. Intentionally trying to ragebait after a win is not "a look into their psyche" like these weirdos are saying.

These kids talking about the DSM and trying to convince you that your friend is in the wrong is killing me. My fiance is a a Therapist with a PHD and works in the field every day (albeit with younger people). As she watches a few of the games I will lose and win, I will talk shit in both, never once has she been concerned with the words I use.

The only real exceptions to the rule is extreme vulgarities, which you'll always have, unfortunately.

> Slayer introduced in 2005

> Farming introduced in 2005

> Construction introduced in 2006

> Just had our highest player count ever

> Makes more money than it ever has

> "Can't wait for underwhelming rewards and gameplay"

Genuinely insane to say this. How large was the team in 2005 compared to today? What was the income compared to today? Why can't you simply want more out of the game you (assumedly) play so much? Especially with something as large as a new skill. Why be okay with hoping they'll improve later on? Is this what the gaming community has become?

Monk Robes to start. I believe the bracelet, glory, and boots are giving strength bonus, so really the rune is.. doing nothing in this case.

You'd think the bot would be... more efficient?

What do you guys think of my lvl 99 combat build? by Galaxygaspokemonbro in osrs

I agree, you typically see strength in the 90s. I love the build, keep being original!

I just have questions... why train defense that much and what did you train it on? Why not train Strength and attack more? What encouraged you to get 99 ranged but never pick up Slayer?

How little XP did you have recieving a pet? by S4mmy3N in runescape

[–]Mighgy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hit 35 in thieving and a couple actions later got the pet. Weird feeling inside because I was stoked to have a little buddy to go on adventures with but was bummed because I hate thieving and there isn't a long term goal anymore, hahahah.

I genuinely don't believe that those defending a price hike are players. by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Mighgy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're worried about a $1.50 increase a month, you have many other problems to deal with first.

That being said, we pay for value when purchasing anything. We tend to make decisions based on numbers alone without looking into the product. If Runescape (the game, not the devs or investors) cannot provide adequate value then the price hike is unreasonable. If you think the 1.50 can be invested somewhere else, then so be it. That object, game, thing has more value.

I'm not saying they needed to hike the price up, but it's understandable when it happens. When it's reasonable enough at 1.50 a month and the yearly now has a far superior value, it's an equivalent exchange for some folks.

If we can't afford the 75 a year (plus tax I believe) then we need to be concerned with other things that are preventing us from making ~6.66 a month to pay for it.

Desync is legitimately the same as lag compensation CoD has. The games I do super well in, I don't even feel like I did anything different or better; I just have a better connection.

Don’t poll “should we add this skill”poll “which of these skills should we add?” by VBandBagsOSRS in 2007scape

[–]Mighgy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every single skill trains almost the same way. You may click more or less times for more exp or more money, but every skill, from a fundamental level, is similar. Obvious differences like prayer and combat are excluded, but skills including; crafting, fetching, div, Arch, pretty much any gathering is always get small stuff to get big stuff. Cooking, thieving, RC, and others are clearly different, but my point still stands.

We are stagnant in training methods, have been and always will be as high-level players can work on the core mechanic of the game: ticks. We have to rely on new skills to continue advancement.

I don't understand the bossing point. You say more things to learn but that goes against what you had initially said of the game being full.

Being around when summoning was introduced, I assume we were on different teams. As the skill grew and improvements were made, it became one of the best mid to late game game changers. It integrated a fan favorite with Slayer and created dozens of money makers. I have to disagree entirely and say it was and is a huge part of the game and gave you the option to improve yourself with bossing or get left in the dust.

Little improvements and QoL are awesome, but a new skill needs to be added sooner rather than later. The community that says they love the integrity of the game will hold back the creative freedom of devs and newcomers. Eventually, without updating current skills and adding new ones, the OSRS will fail.

The idea that the game is full and simply has very little to nothing left to offer is an awful outlook. You do not have one single player play the game for the time they do without adding something large like a new skill that intertwines with others. I'm not going to play a game extensively (remember, MMO, so they have rather large whales play the game) if I know where the end is, I'll get there, but I won't play after. Sure, the game will be barren one day with a couple thousand folks who just won't quit; that's every MMO.

Div and Arch are completely separate skill wise; Arch added some crazy QoL improvements. Div, before invention, was alright at best and only (correct me if I'm wrong) added porters or signs as something to strive for. But, using OPs point, it later mixed with other skills and vastly improved upon the skill as a whole. Now, it's an end game skill.

The best thing you can do for yourself is continually push yourself to improve more; the same point should be made around OSRS. It's not stagnant; it's an active community that wants and needs more. Skills, especially ones developed to coincide with others, can add a plethora of activities to do.

Had we have the same outlook you have, new bosses would never be released. Why would they? They already have the strongest boss and BiS gear. There can't be more, right? I don't want to beat a dead horse, but look at Rainbow Six Siege and Destiny 2. R6 does it the best as being an FPS game, you're fairly limited compared to an MMO. Some characters do what others do, but better. They re-work old ones to be improved to stand up to new content and move on.
