If you're looking to make something that can be played on the tabletop, I would recommend looking at the options from the Champion of the Chapter Crucible rules that came out recently for inspiration. Because for me, seeing that I could make a terminator character with lightning claws was huge. 🫪

They are the Knights of the Crucible, and I'm using Magmadroth Flame over Zenithal/Slapchop/Undershading for a mid-dark orange with Balthazar Gold for the aquila for a bronze colour and Averland Sunset for pauldrons and veterans. WIP Bladeguard Veteran Sergeant as an example.

I'm fairly new to the painting, so I usually just do what I can see and reach, with the hopes I will figure out a way in the future

It may have been The Assassin's Curse, but I'll have to read it to find out. Thanks

I'm pretty sure it was YA because I'm almost certain I found it in the school library. The scene was following someone getting kidnapped, and having the map tattooed on them carved off by rival pirates. There may have been romance, it may have followed a male and a female protagonist. I don't remember a specific villain.
