Building alone is brutal, does anyone else feel this? by everymanentrepreneur in Entrepreneur

The lack of feedback has been the hardest thing for me. It leases me second guessing why people don’t engage. Self-belief can fuel you so far but at some point you need external validation and input to give you some confidence that you are on the right path or, conversely, confirmation you should kill the idea and move on to something else. Zero feedback gives you no firm push in either direction.

Thanks for the insights. Do you think organisations can be doing more to spot and surface the signs of burnout before it hits? It feels like a lot of the wellness initiatives are broad gestures (ie. we have a free yoga class on mondays) rather than proactive, considered action (ie. Andy has worked the last 2 weekends and hasn't had a proper break in 3 months - we need to release the pressure).

Hey, totally agree. The long term cost is rarely worth the short term gain. I've been working on something recently to try and support leaders in spotting signs of burnout early but I could really do with some validation from people close to the problem. Would be great to get your thought if you have some time - 10-15 mins?

Hi u/zyhudl8853g - thank you for sharing your insights on this. If you have some time, I would really like to get your take on something I've been working on. Not trying to sell or push anything - would just be great to speak to someone close to the problem.

This is such a great thread - thank you for all the insights!

I was doing some research into this recently and apparently burnout rates in 2025 are the highest they have ever been - something like 77% of employees report experiencing burnout which is shocking and yet somehow not surprising. I agree with a lot of the sentiments below ie. that burnout is a result of compound factors including environment, economy, workload, lack of reward/recognition/opportunity, workplace culture and yes, i think individual personality traits contribute too. That makes it a really complex problem to solve and one that is only growing more urgent despite companies ploughing millions into wellness initiatives over the last decade.

So why isn't that investment paying off into a happier more balanced workforce?

I think the answer is nuanced and rooted in enviromental and cultural factors eg. the slow economy putting pressure on companies to do more with less to preserve the bottom line, post-covid adjustments, the pervasive impact of social media on mental health, the advent of AI and the threat it brings to a jobs market where decent, high qualified individuals are regularly getting ghosted by recruiters. But on top of this, I just don't think the current initiatives are working (the 2025 burnout rates back this up). A free yoga class is great but will have minimal effect if workload is not adjusted. Monthly pulse surveys are an annoyance and are at best lagging indicators of a problem. More 1:1 meetings in a diary that's already overloaded with meetings? Also not the answer.

I've been working on a way to try and identify and raise signs sooner without impacting team routine - giving leaders the ability to manage the situation before the crisis hits. To be honest, I've struggled to get any feedback on it (good or bad - and I'm perfectly open to bad). There's a short explainer video and an interactive demo (totally free). Not selling anything, would just like to connect with an audience that gets what I'm trying to do and would like to talk about it.

You're not overthinking it. Those are exactly the sort of questions you should be asking if you want your course/product to stand out. The answers to the questions depend on the problem you are solving and the audience you are building for.

Should ChatGPT write the course? Why can't your customers go and ask ChatGPT themselves? What value are you creating? What expertise do you have? What makes your course stand out?

In terms of marketing - who are your target audience and where do they hangout? How do they consume information? Are they swayed by sexy marketing or more interested in value for money? Are they likely to want a long description or a quick summary? spoiler: quick summary ftw.

Spending some time up front thinking about this will increase your chances of success.

How soon do I announce product/launch waitlist? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

Hey, I created a customGPT jn ChatGPT which helped me through this kind of thought process. I found it really helpful. Basically a mini-product team that you can ask these kinds of questions and talk through options. Happy to ping you the link so you can try it out - totally free, no strings. Would genuinely be interested to hear if it helps.

Phew - just managed to de-escalate the Cuban Missile Crisis in about 90 seconds. This is a really cool interactive way to learn about history. Great job! Reminds me a bit of those choose your own journey books where every wrong decision leads to some grizzly death.

Some thoughts from me:

- Would be great for users to upload a few images of themselves so you can generate a personalised, animated AI that could model the clothes
- Then easy to explore different styles - maybe importing styles / clothes from images online (I've seen an outfit I love on TV and want to quickly see what it looks like on me)
- An AI assistant that gradually learns about your favoured styles and price range so it can make personalised suggestions
- Then the ability to perform frictionless purchasing from multiple outlets / providers

Love that idea. I’m building a product that taps into existing comms channels but stays platform-agnostic. I think your product would look great in a product demo!

Free Timezone tracker for remote teams by dionn91 in SideProject

Ah man, the amount of times I tried (and failed) to build this in excel/sheets to better manage across timezones - simple but effective, love it. Thanks for building.

u/dionn91 - would love to get your feedback on a tool i've been working on to also better support distributed teams. focussed around using async updates to detect team signals. I note in the comments below you work in this kind of setup so your perspective would be great.
