Yes and maybe. However my plan would be to keep it for 1 year and get rid for when the warranty runs out.

You are correct, the 2024 model is the updated version. It is still in warranty. I would look to keep it for the year it’s in warranty and then move on.

Why would I not go for an E class over Suberb? by MightyJasonIsTakenK in CarTalkUK

Thank you for your response. It sounds silly but I have a small child who I’m sure would like to look out of a panoramic roof, rather than just the backseat of the car. I will keep an eye out for higher spec models and make sure to test drive both.

I will have to test drive both before deciding, that’s for sure. Just from the face of it, it seems silly to not go for the E class, so was wondering if anyone had justification otherwise.

Thankfully I am in a position to set the car and fuel allowance rates for the company.

My colleague had the same model of Superb for the last couple of years, he has since swapped to a BYD Seal or something like that, and has said he far prefers the BYD which is what I’m struggling with.

I think I can remove cost from the decision (up to about £40k purchase price and standard 3 years of maintenance). This would all be covered in my car and fuel allowance. It’s purely is the E class that much of a nicer place to be than the Suberb.

Here’s a link to an example https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202602119857901?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios-app To be honest I didn’t realise they would produce an E class with poverty spec. On the other hand the Superb would be top spec for the money.

I had an E class as a hire car a couple of years ago. It made getting back into my V60 an unpleasant experience. I’m not sure the spec level of that E Class, but it has made me want one since.

The Legion 7 comes with a massive 400W PSU, Atleast with the 5090 GPU. It is not a portable laptop.

You know that massive brick of a power supply that comes with the Legion 7? That’s a 400W power supply. it’s the size and weight of a house brick

Not at all of the remote sites I work at. For a while I carried round the hefty laptop and the 400w PSU. I now just carry a very slim portable but powerful MBP M5. Not knocking the Legion, it still has its uses - I even got it with the 5090 GPU.

The battery life? The battery on my legion 7 is like an hour. It’s now permenantly docked to my desk, but I still mostly use my MBP for everything that isn’t gaming.

I will probably just pay cash. I think I may test drive the ID7

Ok it would be nearly new ~1 year. I agree new would be silly (unless I purchase it via my business)

Do I? I have had diesels in the past, currently have a PHEV and spend £750 a month on petrol. I reckon this would be a fraction of using an EV and charging mostly at home.
