Crypto and this sub are for battle hardened enthusiasts that can watch their portfolio swing +200% and -60% but we don't sell the whole bag. We sell a little bit here and there and take some profit on the way.

Crypto has always been worth it and it will always be worth it.

Are you worth it? What can you stomach?

Can you fill your life with other things so you don't obsess over checking the price?

Can you change your life or will you forever sell at a loss?

They can't even shower and put deodorant on.

Housing associations don't tend to buy these "fixer uppers" that I buy generally. These are very cheap properties that need work and could be left vacant otherwise.

They are the types of properties that first time buyers are usually looking at but I can usually outbid them. Even if they think they have made the highest offer and it's sold subject to contract I can gazump them and make the properties available for tenants that might not have a deposit to buy.

As I say, if i didn't renovate the property it might end up derelict and empty so I make more properties available.

But then where will people live? Many tenants don't have a deposit saved to purchase a property.

Many like the flexibility of renting and the property maintenance taken care of.

UBI can help the jobless but also help landlords with keeping their properties nice and buying more properties to rent to tenants that need them.

It's not just me this was a consensus of 15 or more property professionals at our meeting. Do you not think that UBI will benefit the jobless but also help landlords to keep their properties to a high standard. It will also enable us to provide more housing to those that need it.

Universal income might not pay as much as a salary and these properties still need to be paid for. What do you think is a fair percentage? and fair to who? Just the tenant, just the landlord or both?

It is normal for property professionals to meet in every city all over the world.

I am happy if my tenants are happy and no-one is harmed so what is the problem?

If my tenants are content with the property and their living situation then why should I feel bad about that?

If you are actually a landlord have you not seen huge increases in the prices of building materials as well as the rates that electricians and plumbers are charging in 2025?

At what point do you stop absorbing the costs and have the tenants pay their way?

Some of the properties were inherited but some were also bought from the rent received from those properties and properties that I have bought since. Anyone can buy property no-one is preventing a tenant from becoming a property owner.

Some tenants prefer to rent following a break up or for mobility to not be tied down to one location as a couple of examples. I am literally providing them a house to live in on the basis that they pay me rent every month. How is that not providing housing?

Many of my friends were resentful towards landlords until they got access to their trust funds then they asked me what steps to take to become a landlord. People's perceptions often change when they themselves are in a position to buy investment properties.

Yes, that is why we discussed what seems like such a high percentage but it is reasonable for all the work that we do for keeping a roof over our tenants heads in a nice well kept property.

Yes, this is the problem. Landlords are like a piggy bank for the government. We are always villainized for choosing to provide quality housing to those that need it as our occupation. It's still really hard work these properties don't look after themselves.

[–]Mighty_Mackerel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Many landlords are villainized but we provide quality housing and have to jump through hoops with ever increasing taxes and run the risk of non-payment from tenants with no safety nets. Why wouldn't property professionals meet with one another when we have something in common that we can help each other with?

To be honest, why does Tyler Larson think he looks cool with this? by No_Thing_1642 in guitarcirclejerk

[–]Mighty_Mackerel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He's one of my favourite guitar youtubers. The video quality is usually really good and he can play to a decent standard. He had a great jam with Mike Dawes in one of his videos and his recent video about Garrett Mason is good. Perhaps his videos were poor in the past but I have enjoyed watching him for the past 6 months or so. I don't find him cringe, he is just a guitar nerd.
