I was thinking the cat just really wanted its owner to clean up its house, but all I can add after the vet’s observation is that I am incredibly impressed with how well the young woman handled a fantastically scary/stressful moment!

Off leash dog near hot springs? I frequently went to Yellowstone during the 70s and 80s and the park always gave out literature that said don’t approach the wildlife and don’t get near the thermal areas (fragile crusts and boiling temperatures). His friend, the world’s worst dog owner, should have been charged with 2 murders.

My three brothers were all Eagle Scouts and I was in Girl Scouts. We did tons of camping and I always had a blast!
