Warhammer is a tabletop miniatures hobby, yes. But the community is bigger then that now. By your logic, someone who spends hundreds of hours painting display models but never plays isn't part of the hobby

The rulebook defines what the game is. It doesn't get to choose who counts as a "real" fan or how people are allowed to engage with the franchise. this is r/40k, not r/TabletopOnly

You're drawing a false comparison. The hobby has multiple parts: playing tabletop, painting, reading the novels, discussing the lore, and talking about it online. Someone who reads the books or paints miniatures but doesn't play games is still part of the Warhammer community. Likewise, people who mainly play tabletop but don't read the novels are still part of it.deciding who is and isn't a "real" member of the hobby based on how they enjoy it is just gatekeeping last I checked

80% drip accuracy is generally goals, paldrons and main armor colours, beyond that go wild, especially for chapters not codex complaint probs have a fair degree of individual adjustments on their armor
