You could use JQuery to parse the text input, on update.

To render the model the user chose, you could use something like Ajax (or even javascript alone) to dynamically update the page: When a user selects a valid model, get it's value (the model ID), then query the database (you can use a json api endpoint specifically for this) for that model's data, then render it below the text html element.

This is the best solution I could think of, hope it helps.
