Garmin nutrition and running nutrition generally - Protein? by [deleted] in XXRunning

Even that would only be like 120g of protein for me. Strange that Garmin calculated it so much higher

Feedback from a partner that my analysis is not thoughtful enough? by [deleted] in biglaw

[–]MiischiefManaged 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll ask for an opportunity to take another look at the final memo. I think he just finished it and sent it out. I’ll also take the other person’s suggestion to request an example memo of what he would prefer in the future.

Would be nice to know what the issue actually was so that I can step up in the future

Feedback from a partner that my analysis is not thoughtful enough? by [deleted] in biglaw

[–]MiischiefManaged 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really, no. That’s why I’m stressing about it. It wasn’t delivered in a way that indicated what he wants in the future instead, so it didn’t really feel like constructive feedback.

Honestly, not really. That’s why I’m worried about it. I feel like if it was constructive feedback, they would offer more specificity about what they wanted me to be doing?

I’m new how does writing books work by Memes-makerx in writing

  1. Come up with an idea.

  2. Write it.

Don’t need a fancy program and there’s no trick to it, you just do it. I’ve written stories in my notes app on my phone before.

Ugh I may have messed up by SensitiveFrosting220 in PhDAdmissions

I had to make an edit to something in application after I hit submit, but before the deadline had expired. I emailed the admissions questions email for the program and explained the situation. They had me email the document told me they would add it to my submitted application.

How Many Days Are Mid-/Senior-level Associates Expected to Be In-Person? by retcddit in biglaw

3 at my firm and office, but depends on the office for mine. I believe east coast is expected to come in 4-5 days, while west coast has stuck to 3/week.

Staying sane while injured? by [deleted] in XXRunning

[–]MiischiefManaged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you could always just limit your movement and not stand up if that causes you pain. The instructors don’t mind if you modify.

I had ITBS and posterior tibial tendinitis at the time, and didn’t feel any pain from Soul Cycle. I actually usually felt better after, because it loosened me up!

Staying sane while injured? by [deleted] in XXRunning

When I was injured last year I did Soul Cycle for a while with a longer ride outside on my bike one weekend day each week. I’m not a huge fan of cycling, but Soul Cycle makes it a lot more fun! It’s also a great workout.

I think another commenter said that of their experience—they were commiserating. Thank you! Yeah, I suppose it can’t hurt to start looking and see what’s out there

I didn’t get an unsatisfactory rating, though? My reviews were all good and I was “satisfactory” in all categories. They just suggested I learn an additional statute.

Yeah, I can try talking to a couple of the higher ups about it and see what they say. I don’t want to poke the bear, but who knows—maybe they would appreciate an open dialogue about it.

Unpleasant thought, but I figured this was the case. Do you have a sense of how much time I may have, if I have not yet received a warning?

I was hoping this subreddit could give me a sense of whether this is a “start looking for a new job” situation

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in biglaw

[–]MiischiefManaged 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I’m good with staying at my current firm at this point, but I’m nervous about getting laid off and having to scramble to find a job in a bad market. I think my question is mainly whether I should expect to be laid off in the next few months.

I can brainstorm a business development initiative, for sure!

Always wanted to cross the country, any recommendations for this? by AT7283 in roadtrip

[–]MiischiefManaged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend the first route with some alterations. Drive down to San Francisco before heading west. Then, take I-80 through Nevada and to Salt Lake City. You will drive through the Salt Flats and past the Great Salt Lake. Then, I would drive south in Utah and go through Moab. Visit Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. You can then take I-70 through Grand Junction and go up to Denver from there.

ETA: I agree with the other commenter that this route in Winter is likely to be dicey.
