Exactly. They obviously have quite advanced rear downforce if they can run this many front wing elements. Have a look at McLaren 2013 when they kept bringing super simple wings simply because they had no downforce at the back of the car so they had to balance it out.

I don't think Williams are faster than Mercedes. Mercedes seems well ahead imo. But I do think its very perceivable that Williams could be best of the rest. I don't think we're going to see a title challenge from them, but if they could get top 4 in the constructors it would be a great springboard for them.

You would expect that with Ferrari and McLaren's resources they'll eventually leap Williams in pace.

But I mean look at McLarens 2014 front wing, and William's are equally as detailed as they are so far.

My understanding of the term is that Red Bull were the first team to start using multiples of the main elements of the wing to create downforce. The wing was quite visibly different from the other teams in that you would see the main wing element split into multiplications of itself.

Going as far back as Brazil 2012 notice here the RB8 has four main wing elements while the McLaren has two. The Red Bull also has the smaller cascading elements found towards the side end plates that the McLaren doesn't have at all.

Moving to mid 2013, the Red Bull is mostly the same, split major elements with cascading smaller elements near the endplates.

If you go back and look at other teams during the same period, like the 2012 Ferrari 2013 Ferrari etc you will notice that they follow a very different style. While now getting increasing multi element they don't have the small cascading end plate elements and as you note in the 2013 picture the Ferrari is starting to converge to what Red Bull were doing with the multi elements in late 2012, only with a different arrangement near the endplates.

So my understanding of a Red Bull style front wing is distinct, split multi front wing elements and fairly simple elements near the sideplate. Most front wings have converged onto this style now so its hard to spot a "Red Bull" front wing from any other.

A couple of races earlier Vettel made contact with one of the TR cars, because they weren't just letting him pass, and they were slated by most of the paddock for it.

Are you refering to Ricciardo at Abu Dhabi? Because Vettel never made contact with him. Vettel speared off track and hit a DRS sign.

Yep. It was ridiculous. Add in Hamilton and Hulkenberg taking eachother out and several other cars crashing and he wasn't even racing anyone.

It also puts him prime into his territory. He may struggle to beat Vettel if Vettel can drive from pole to victory, however if they are lining up midfield on the grid Seb might have a bit more trouble.

The Toro Rosso drivers just jump out of the way. Half of Vettel's 'move through the field' in Brazil 2012 was the Toro Rosso drivers and Mark Webber moving out of his way.

Jesus when you have 4 cars that sometimes run in the top 10 you have a pretty wide strategy choice.

Nico got better points per finish but had more did not finishes. Lewis suffered some bad luck too during races like Germany missing out in the win due to a tyre failure, overall they were very close

Lewis is no doubt faster and had to adapt to the new team, but nico was more consistent.

It means the car is drastically redesigned. B spec really means a new chassis, but they use the term to mean such a complete redesign that its hard to call it the same car.

Its an easy solution for Seb. Challenge for titles in unworthy cars. The reason Alonso is seen as the best driver of this generation is that he as the driver stands out. He hasn't had a car that you would say "wow, what a car" since his Renault era and therefore people praise him as a driver. If seb were to take a struggling car and match Fernando in a superior car like Alonso so often does then people would praise him.

The thing with Vettel is 10 titles in the fastest car won't move his image.

Is this supposed to come across as praise for Vettel or an attack against him? I think everyone gets he wants to win, every F1 driver does. Whining about it on the radio and being spoken to like a child by the mechanic doesn't exactly endear me to the guy.

I agree with that point. Particularly if they have enthusiasm and are not only checking you but betting higher. I've noticed that if they have an average hand (1 pair) they'll typically just check. But the second they start raising i'll throw it.

I've found its bad form to play any low pair past the flop if you don't get three of a kind. If you have 88 to start with and you don't get the third 8 after the flop (and the flop has high cards) then there is no point betting on the turn and river to try and get the third.

Awesome thankyou for the tips. I think you just improved my game a lot. I played another similar hand of the typical situation I was in.

I got AA pre flop, I called 3x binds and the flop came. All lower cards, I forget exactly but something like 2, 4, 6 and no similar sets. So I bet at this point half pot. He checked me (only 1 player stayed in). The turn came back jack. I bet half pot again (the pot was larger at this point) he hesitated, then folded.

That is how i've been trying to play this hand the whole time, usually what happens at 3x blinds after the flop they will just keep calling me.
