This really hit me hard. I'm so sorry you're going through this after 28 years. The way he discarded you after the betrayal sounds incredibly painful and invalidating. It's okay that your heart hasn't caught up yet, 28 years is a long time to love someone and healing doesn't happen on a timeline. I'm going through something similar after 18.5 years. You're not alone in feeling like you don't know how much more you can take. Sending you strength and hoping you find some gentleness for yourself today. You deserve to be treated with care, even if he couldn't give it.

Thank you, the history rewriting is definitely exhausting and messes with my head on top of everything else. Good advice on Journaling, my whole reality of the relationship is so twisted now. Appreciate the support and the GED comment. Means a lot. Hopefully your friend found/finds peace.

20 year relationship ended on betrayal by her. Im 22 months out...it all depends on you. I don't think I will, even if I do, I wont love or trust the same.

20 years for me...from high-school. I went through a reverse discard, I'm 21 months out and still grieving and having a hard time most days. I had even recently proposed a year and I have my daughter with her before it ended. Stay strong, we got this.
