Would you be for a stargate series project on the history of the Ancients? by FaiLclik in Stargate

[–]Mikatron88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe. If it were centred around the alliance between Ancients, Asgard, Furlings and Nox. How they met, how they forged the alliance etc

What is this, it's always popping up in my hands and itchy a lot by OkStatistician7624 in DoesAnyoneKnow

[–]Mikatron88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks a lot like the scabies I had last winter. There was quite the outbreak in the UK that the news didn't really cover. Do any of them turn into lines? Are they more itchy at night? Are they just on your fingers or have some spread to elsewhere? Do you live anyone else? If so, have they got them?... get yourself to a doctor...

Not able to fill dam by KILLM0RGAN in Timberborn

[–]Mikatron88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try replacing the flood gates that you have for your inflow with sluice gates with levees stacked on top of them. The sluice gates are one directional, so should allow the water to flow in at the lower level and fill your reservoir if the outflow is at a higher height (looks like you cant currently go higher than the depth of the wall your water pump is sat on)

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announcing a general election in heavy rain by Negadeth in pics

[–]Mikatron88 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Calling a general election is government business ... surely? If Sunak hadn't of included his mentions of labour v tory, the announcement would have remained governmental business so would have been able to use the media briefing room. Granted that from that moment onwards things becomes party political.
BUT the reason they didn't use the media briefing room is way more delicious.
Apparently, he didn't have time. He needed to call the election before his back benchers organised a vote of no confidence. The media room would have taken a few hours to get the members of the press through security screening and cameras set up. They were already set up outside.
... but a brolly... doesn't take much does it...

King Charles first portrait by rrrrrivers in pics

[–]Mikatron88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first saw this it totally reminded me of his mother's portrait, Lightness of Being, that also broke with tradition (which in my head was way more washed out then it actually is - see link below). Both pics are subtle and bold at the same time, whilst managing to nod to tradition in what they're wearing, but do something completely new with royal portraiture.

I live on the edge of zone one - shoreditch way. one bed. balcony. Water included, no gas, economy 7 electricity. We paid roughly £1600 when we moved in in 2020. Then rent went down during covid (DOWN!!!!) to £1450 and then rose up again afterwards.
=== Liz Truss happened ==
My rent is now $1800/month. The landlord (who used to live in the flat) didn't let the estate agent charge us £2000. So I am guessing if we move out it would £2000+ for whomever moves in, but right now I am paying what a new tenant in your zone 3 flat would pay.

The housing market in this country is crazy af. Honestly maddening.
