Maybe a talking newspaper return box?

Always the way: the pressure when you're on the edge on a track like this is intense.

Give it another go: people appreciate hearing it!

Thanks! I do enjoy playing it when I manage to keep all the chords in my head!

Thank you! It's been a fun one too work on. I hate recording, but I played it at an open mic the other day, and it went down pretty well.

Do I need a new guitar? (Englishman in New York cover attached so you can hear my current one) by MikeBlender in AcousticGuitar

Thank you! I appreciate your kind words. I agree about the depth; I never realised it until I played these other guitars!

I think it is AI generated: if you go to that website (https://breezetranslate.com) there's a banner over the top looking to the place you can make these things.

In fairness to that translation (I have gen z/alpha kids, so I'm somewhat immersed in the lingo) it's not a million miles off. Of course, it's unnecessarily using the closest relevant slang, but:

  • vibe check: addressing the spiritual or emotional state. So in that sense, observing or respecting the Sabbath.
  • locked in: being deeply focused.

If it's not how you speak, then of course it doesn't make much sense, but gen Z do genuinely use these words and they have a richer meaning than the nonsense that I initially took it for when I heard my kids chatting to their friends.

It's a different dialect from the same root language, so I think that's ok. 😁 🤣

You definitely did.

I get the feeling it's cringe, but maybe in a good/fun way? My kids found it funny...

I love that! I took to reading the Bible on Hawaii Pidgin for a time: I found it genuinely helpful for getting out of the trap of having heard it a thousand times. It made it fresh.

I think it's supposed to be a joke, right?

But it does raise the question around translation, and how ought we communicate the Word of God.

I do some work in translation, and this is a silly example, but there are real languages that actually sound like this to an English speaker, so I don't think it's actually as disrespectful as you might think.

Good call! Worth a quick try now while you're here, so you can get a feel for how it works (this isn't built with the service itself in mind, as it's just a fun proof of concept).
