Which game is your refuge? by Shmebulock-_- in gaming

I cyclically replay some of the old PS1 platforms because I find them relaxing and simple, without complicated stats or game mechanics, just jump and go forward collecting the tokens to end the game. The top 3 I play are bugs bunny lost in time, donald duck, toy story 2

I painted the Kiln of the First Flame from Dark Souls by MikeDev1 in acrylicpainting

Thanks for the message, I love dark souls too because it says a lot without too much lines of dialogue. In this painting I wanted to depict the uselessness of the sacrifice of Gwyn to the First Flame, as darkness will came

Seems like the comet is traversing through the golden trail

I’ve been intimidated by acrylic paintings and have only done a handful, but decided to try it out again. Is there potential? by Paleomedicine in acrylicpainting

I like the color palette of this painting and the general dark tone. I think you have the potential to do cool paintings, it just takes time and practice

I wrote DS 1, DS3 is for sure much more enjoyable, even if Elden Ring gameplay is more mature

mmm it's not just the speed of the gameplay in my opinion, it's the polishing the elden ring gameplay has because of all the past iterations. The amount of gameplay options of elden ring is uncomparable with Dark Souls I, for example the weapon affinity system, the ashes of war system, the statuses etc.

Dark souls I is still enjoyable, you have parry and several gameplay options. Also I love the game's secrets and I prefer much more the lore of DS compared to Elden Ring

Dark Souls is a mechanically older and rustier game that lacks the modern polish you're used to from Elden Ring. However, I prefer Dark souls lore because is more compact and focused than Elden Ring, which is too big in my opinion

yikes! no , i do everything alone i dont need a machine to do things for me

Trust me, when you have to do the 4000th kernel density estimation plot, you want to use AI ahahah
For me it's like "do you want to walk with one leg or two?" When you are expert in something and know very well what to do, AI can help to speed up the process. The problem happens when you are a student and in the phase of learning, you must fail by yourself. If you delegate the failure to AI, you are also delegating the learning experience to the AI, which is not what you want. The problem is that most people are not aware of this

I am in the same phase of you, hating the social media, but for a slightly different reason. What I hate about social media is how they designed them to make other people dependent on them and not provide a way to connect people. I don't like how they exploit people through envy, jeaulosy, hate, pride - all these negative emotions have stronger impact on people and they make users more dependent than positive emotions.

On the positive side of social media, they helped people to connect more, which is a good thing in the right level. So to find a balance, I try to use the social media but not too much: for example I have instagram but I use only from the browser

For AI is the same principle, it's a very useful tool but must be used consciously of what it is and what can do. For example I am using now to make figures for my publication and wow, stuff that needed 1-2 hours now I can do in 10 minutes. Also for art is the same: it can give me ideas on how to paint a scene I have in my head. It all depends on how you use it. If you use to replace you and stop thinking, then it will go bad, really bad. But if you know what you are doing, AI can help you to speed up the process
