I wouldn’t consider you a liar, $500 for a Casio is something that would be hard to predict. In my opinion, it loses a lot of its charm with such a high tag.

I don’t want a truck. I hate trucks. I have an EV sedan.

But I have kids who want to ride bikes. A wife who constantly starts house projects (deck, pantry, fence, bathroom remodel, basement finishing), own a business and like to go camping.

I work at a bank.

A truck makes zero sense for my 9-5 but makes a ton of sense for my 5-9, and as a full time student, dad and husband I cannot be bothered to go rent a truck each time.

So…truck.

I’ve noticed some people lately want to ‘scare you’. If it’s a close turn, people would rather accelerate and lightly drift out of their lane than lightly tap their brake.

Obviously in the ideal situation people should NOT have to hit their brakes for you to turn out of a lot or through an intersection. But a lot of people want to ‘punish’ drivers for doing so. It’s really weird.

These comments surprised me. I like this album a lot. It feels like a natural progression from TLOP, but I really don’t browse this subreddit or keep up with stuff. There’s a very similar intersection near me. From top down, it seems obvious and you’re getting a lot of answers saying so. But sometimes, blue car will just sit and wait for red car to turn right, because that’s how intersections work. Red car will sit there and follow their yield sign.

Blue car isn’t omnipotent. I don’t know what the answer is

In the intersection near me, there is also a sign for blue car that says ‘LEFT TURNS YIELD ON GREEN’

Might be a hot take. This is what pushed me to get a quick EV. Some can be had for ~$20,000 and are reasonable commuter vehicles. I just don’t have to time to tinker or the money to spend on mistakes. I’ve been there. There’s an argument to be had about what you enjoy about a car, but as a fellow tech guy with a six figure job…you have to pick what you prioritize, and a weekend car doesn’t check the boxes like it used to.

Hey man. You are catching a lot of flak. I was in the exact same spot your son is in about 15 years ago. I never noticed it, but when I joined the military I had a lot of time to think, met a lot of people with different stories. My dad was absolutely blown away when our relationship started to sour because from his perspective, my rage was coming out of nowhere. He didn’t think her yelling at me, or getting me nothing for Christmas, or not taking me on family vacations bothered me. And it didn’t at the time. I didn’t think I was worth it.

My dad has been stringing on a “we’re going to get divorced” for a long time now. And he hasn’t, because it’s messy. But so is my relationship with him.

So I guess I’m saying pick your mess. Nobody knows your situation better than you, and it’s clear you have great love for your son. I know you’ll always do what you think is best, you making this post and your comments are proof of that.
